i see some of your post with these different skinned banners with different info in them how do i start to find and use one for my self

There's a minimum post count, but I don't remember what it is (you can look it up in the stickies). After that you just find one you like and it will take you to a page where you can create it.

Once you get the post count, choose one of these links to set one up, copy the code, go into settings and hit edit signature, and then paste the code in.

The option to add a signature won't appear in your Profile settings until after you get in your 15 posts minimum. (And you wait for the next hourly system update to your account.)
Once that's done, find a signature banner you like and click on it. If they are the "counter" type like I have, that will take you to a web site where you can enter your own data to generate banner code. Both the web site and the Profile Add Signature setting on ECF will provide you with additional info for inserting the banner code into your signature.

For an easy starter banner, just click "Forum Actions" at the top of this page, then click "Generate SigBanner". That one looks like mine below.
