Quit Smoking, start VaPinG Stories

Hello there fellow Vapors :). I came to these forums, read alot of threads and grabbed useful info. I then thought to myself, maybe its time to help others who have interest in vaping. (i also want to get my 5 post out of the way, so I can reply in other forums,).

Anyways, I can officially say I started vaping in april, and begining as of 2015, I can say Im actually cigarette free!!! I actually quit smoking for a while now, but I had my non-battery issues, smoking rituals and so forth. But when I really got into vaping, I went about 2 months without smoking a cig . Only smoked again, cuz I didn't carry any extra battery, lesson learned.. I smoked again, with friends that smoke, as a ritual, 3 wish sticks (cigarettes you would flip over in a pack, <---stupid superstition) , to say goodbye to cigarettes. I believe I went a couple of months, before I had another battery issue.. By that time, cigarettes tasted like $h#t, and only needed it cuz I was hella tired and needed for the ride home. It was only 2 cigs. My last and final cigarette, was on New Years Eve (another ritual) this way I can officially track how long i go without smoking.

Well this is my first post here, but I constantly came to this site and you tube to gather info about vaping. I thank those who gave me helpful info, (although I am unsure of who you are ). Main reason I started vaping was to quit smoking. So as my first post, I want to hear about your soon to be: "quit smoking, start vaping story."

So I started gaping cause cigarettes are hella expensive... Duh... Well is treated smoking again after 4 years quitting... Dumb... But my girlfriend turned me on to gaping... Cause lol I actually hate the taste of all cigarettes and vamping tastes awesome... So I decided to exclusively vape last week... Bought my own stuff to make my own liquids last week to save even more money cause I smoke these like a chimney.... Hopefully all goes well with making my own juice :)

I started vaping a week and a half ago almost. I'm on my 9th day of no cigarettes. I have a V2 Pro Series 3 that I got when I first started which is a proprietary It's system. The coil is built into the tank which means that when the coil goes bad, you buy a new tank as well. Expensive at $8 a pop. That and the tank is polycarbonite and I started to realize after more reading online that there's liquids out there that can/will bust polycarbonite tanks.

So I bought an istick and a nautilus mini a couple days ago. No more worries about tank busting liquids.

The V2 Pro liquid I have is 24mg and came from V2 and is a bit too strong and the liquid I bought for the nautilus is 12mg (and 90 VG so lack of throat hit as well) which is not strong enough. So I'm constantly vaping both depending on my needs. Can't say I still don't have urges for a cigarette. But I know it'll fade. Must stay strong!

I ordered 4 18mg liquids off of nicoticket so I'm sure that'll help with a good balance once I get them in the mail. I'll still keep the expensive backup cartridges I bought for the V2 Pro as a backup till I get something else. But I can see the importance for a backup so you don't go buy a pack of smokes.

One thing about vaping, atleast for me, as time went by, it felt like I needed a stronger, and stronger hit. I started off with a vape pen, to dripping attys on mech mods, then to an unregulated mech box, and finally to a regulated box, ipv3. If your using vaping as a smoking alternative, then thats awesome, health wise. But as a smoke cessation, dont think it helps at all. If your trying to quit nicotine all together, then my advice, stay away from dripper attys. Thats where I started and look at me now, lol.

Which brings up my next thread question. Has anyone ever ween themselves off to 0mg nic, and then quit? If so how?

to ecf NoNsMoKiNgArCHeR. Nice to meet you and so glad you are here. I've been here a while and i still love reading stories about people and their vaping. I'm a sucker for happy endings.

I was google guided here myself and boy and I glad. The information is invaluable but what really makes ecf such a wonderful place to be. . . are the people. Have fun and make yourself at home.

Awww thank you Rat, like the title states: U touched my Heart:blush:. Such a heart felt reply, I dont what to say?

Felt it was about time to give back. I'm sure we all know that we're on the frontline to groundbreaking technology. Involving both are health and safety. I feel as if we can't really trust the FDA, as if they may, possibly be influenced by the tobacco companies.

So all we have is each other, fellow vapors to rely on. Please do tell your, Quit Smoking, Start vaping stories. You have no idea, who else you may touch. Thank God, for social media huh...

PS We should all thank the creator/s of this forum, for they brought us all together, and helped share vape info. Anyone know who he/she/they are?

30 sticks/day habit over 32 years. Bought a Kanger EVOD and started vaping 12/25/2014 during a vacation at SFO. TBH more a curio than altruistic self care.

About 4 years ago, I saw an e-cig (the original CIG lookalike) and the "smoker" I thought was silly. The guy kept sucking and it was smokeless so I really wrote it off.

Anyway, my third pack of cigarettes since 12/25 remains unfinished and come Sunday, its less than 30 sticks/month.

So shall I say I quit smoking? The last experience with it was disgusting. In fact it got more disgusting with each time. Mouth smells, clothes smells, room stinks and aftertaste is yucks.

I won't say I quit smoking. I will say that I am a vaper, no longer a smoker.

I smoked 2 packs a day for 30 years. on christmas day 2014 i told my girlfriend im done smoking, on December 26th i drove around found a Vape shop went in talked to the guy tried some flavors and bought a kanger evod vv $66, then a couple days later i found another vape shop went and checked it out ended up buying a kanger Ipow2 and a protank 3 $58 and yesterday my ipow died (only had it 3 weeks) and went and bought a Istick 20watt the istick is awesome i wish i would have bought it in the begining. so today is 29 days without a cigarette it was actually easier than i thought no real cravings for a cigarette i do catch myself reaching for my pack that isnt there. i started at 12mg nicotine now im at 6mg. I dont think i could have quit smoking if it wasnt for Vaping and its a fun hobby.

"i do catch myself reaching for my pack that isnt there."
Wissel Joe I know the feeling. But with me, my Zippo lighter is still in my shirt pocket.
I've only been vaping for a week and only have had 1 cig in the last 4 days but old habits are hard to break.
I'm not a pyromaniac so I don't know why I need my Zippo, it's probably out of fluid, but it's been with me for years.

More or less the same for me. I smoked for ages, since in my teens. Quit for 20 months once.
Fell back into it. Smoke another 10 years.
Quit. for a year. Went to friends. Smoked a black Marley. Smoked for a week or two.
Went to the keys, one of the older kids drove and he had been vaping about a year.
He was driving drawing on his mod all the way but we had to stop for me every once in a while
so I could have a smoke and not bother the grandkids.
Not cool.
Then the wife bought me an Atmos and some terrible juice and I loved the concept.
I'd tried it b4 but the juice was even worse and so were the little batteries..

Got on the net and bought some better stuff and here I am. It's all her fault.
Next father's day will make two years and I don't look back.
I also thank my lady every day. She probably saved my life.

I tried everything I could think of to quit smoking. Gums, patches, Chantix, Zyban and even stuffing straws with cotton. (harder than you think to do) I gave up. I new I would never be able to do it. I saw a Groupon for a electronic cigarette starter kit. I thought, "Well, maybe I could save some money and do both." I loved it from the start. All the flavors.

I started cutting back on cigarettes. At some point I started think that maybe vaping would be the answer. I wanted to use up the cigarettes that I had (I'm frugal) and by the time it got down to one or two a day, I could hardly stand the taste of the cigarette that I had loved for so many years. It seems I have smoked all my life. My mother smoked while she carried me, second hand smoke as a child. My neighbor (who I dearly loved) would give me a pipe and I'd puff on a half a bowl full every day before his wife came home. I was five years old. (of course today that would be called contributing to the delinquency of a minor) But it was a special time to me. He also put me up on a stool and taught me to fry chicken.

Well anyway, back to the story. I ran out of cigarettes and just started vaping full time. That was one year and nine months ago and I haven't wanted a cigarettes since. After all I had tried, all it took was a little puff of flavored water vapor. I am just a little bit amazed everyday and thankful that I gave vaping a chance. Will I ever smoke cigarettes again? I don't know about tomorrow, but for today I am completely satisfied.
