Quitting smoking

A couple of years ago I got stuck in the hospital for four days and of course couldn't smoke during that time. By the time I got out I had decided I would quit smoking. If I could go four days and not be a lunatic, why smoke. That resolve lasted for a couple of days and then the beast was clawing at me to buy a pack. I decided then to try an e-cig. Had to better than smoking, right. I bought a brand called "Safer Smoke Supply" and really liked those but I could only get them at our local smoke shop. I became frustrated eventually by lack of access because they were only open 8 to 6 and not on Sunday. Also because of the short battery life. Constantly changing batteries. About five months ago a I bought my first vaping pen and love it. Battery lasts a long time and I found a flavor, Java by Haus, that I absolutely love.
The moral of the story is that I have only smoked one cigarette in two years and I hated it. Only did that because I was in a pinch. Was so glad to get home a get my pen. My doctor is happy I switched but would rather I quit of course. This is so much cheaper than smoking and I would never go back to cigarettes. I am 68 years old and have smoked since my twenties. That's my story and I am sticking to it.

Great to hear that you've got away from the cigs and found a setup and e-liquid you like. Like you, I've tried one cig since stopping and it wasn't because I needed one, it was more that I wanted to test myself out - see what I thought of them after being off them for a while, and to be honest, it was disgusting.
Starting to smoke was not one of our better decisions in life, but we've finally seen the light

Welcome kehuddl

This site is a great resource for anyone using or planning to use PV (personal Vaporizers) to quit the cancer sticks. I don't like the name e-cig, as these vaporizers don't resemble smoking nasties in any way IMO. Lots of great forums on quitting cigs. I was a 1 to 2 PAD smoker for 40+ years and PV's are the one thing that helped me quit.

Welcome to ECF!
