So, I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself.

I bought my first e-cig a couple months ago, for the express purpose of smoking more: in airports, on planes, trains and buses, in my office, etc. And then 2 weeks ago, something strange happened -- I did nothing but vape all day. Didn't touch an analog (hate that term, but hey...)

And since then I've been cigarette free, after 23 years of smoking 2-4 packs a day. I can't believe it!

Since I live in South America, it's hard to get vaping supplies (e-liquid is actually banned in my country... where maybe 50% of the population smokes! How's that for stupid?), but I'm managing.

I have a couple ego-Ts (Joyetech) and an ego-V v2 (SLB...). I use some CE4s I got a hold of, plus some no-name clearomizers, in addition to the tanks and black metal tube-ish atomizers the ego-T came with.

As far as liquids go, I vape what I can get, which is from the gray market. I've had some Chinese no-name liquids (not even labels!) that are so foul that they scare me. And some Chinese no-name liquids with cheap, generic stickers naming the flavor, most of which are tolerable. Plus a bit of Halo, which is to die for, but which is $9 for a miniscule 7ml bottle, so I don't buy that much. In any case, the nicotine plus the act of inhaling cigarette-style are what matters.

First of all congrats on quitting. Sorry to hear vape is illegal in your country. Is there anything the people there can do about it?

It was really banned as as result of people in the government being busybodies, as well as not really understanding vaping. There are FAR more important things to do here as far as public health goes. And that ominous FDA report didn't help -- they actually cited it when banning e-juice here.

I plan on writing the Minister of Health, but I don't expect it to do anything. In most or all of Latin America, pharmaceuticals and such aren't tested independently -- we just copy whatever the FDA says, or occasionally the EU.

Congrats on being analog free! i found myself doing the same thing the smoking and nic in vaping has helped me not even think about an analog

So true!

Of course, I live in terror of running out of e-juice or haveing all my equipment break!! So I'm slowly trying to stockpile, but it's slow, hard and expensive.

wow.. really surprised that it's illegal there guess we learn something every day! Either way thats rough.. especially coming to these forums and seeing all the juices that people rave about. I would go crazy.

If cigarettes were banned, I might understand all forms of nicotine being banned. But when half the country smokes and cigs are cheap (about US$4.00 per pack), and they don't even crack down on the sale of single cigs near schools, well, banning e-juice is just ridiculous.

At this point, I'd be satisfied with a liter of quality nicotine and the same amount of PG, just to know I'll be supplied for the next year or so. Because the day I can't get e-juice is the day I'll probably be back to analogs :´-(

Congratulations! I got an ecig with no intention of quitting either - bet you were as surprised as I was at the results!

... and as a Canadian I deeply sympathize with your frustrations with your country's regulations ... !!!! Very sad when you think about the amazing potential for how many lives might be saved if governments instead started publicizing how many long-time heavily addicted smokers have been able to quit.

This strikes me as the IDEAL issue for a petition -- thousands of people who have quit smoking thanks to e-cigs are a powerful argument just by existing!
