Well, I'm done with nicotine, vapor, smoke, all of it. What made me quit vaping was some good ol' fashioned paranoia about exploding batteries. Just the other day I read another story on Fox about some poor kid who is in an induced coma after his mod blew up in his face. I fear that we will be hearing more and more cases like this. Just not willing to take the risk anymore, even if it is minuscule. I know I'm paranoid but hey, ecigs help me quit the cancer sticks so it's win win. I'm bracing for a week or two of hellish withdrawals but I can take it. Not the end of the world.

I do want to thank everyone here for helping us noobs out. Y'all are some of the nicest people I've met online. Great community. Wish you all the best and I will continue to support the cause because I still think that vaping has the potential to help millions of smokers quit. So vape on my friends, and be safe! Adios! :)\m/

Its true these things happen, most here may point to user error, though I cannot say. I don't think a persons thoughts and decision warrants insults at all, and for that I apologize.
I wish you luck with quitting tobacco forever in what ever form that may take.

I went from smoking to vaping several years ago, then quit vaping and was smoke/vape free for three years. Only thing I really missed was the physical hand to mouth. Find something healthy to chew on. Good luck and congrats!

Those cinnamon toothpicks in the little red/clear package, I knew a guy about 15 years ago that quit smoking with those alone, often wondered what would happen if you dipped them in nicotine, guess I can find out now lol!

Yeah, if you have DIY ejuice supplies laying around the possibilities are endless! Flavored nic coffee, cup cakes, hand lotion...:w00t:
We used to make them cinnamon tooth picks when we were kids, just soak toothpicks in cinnamon oil for a couple days. We took them to school in tin foil.

I don't agree with your reason for quitting, but that's awesome that you can leave vaping and nicotine all together! I'm on my way to far less usage. I'm confident that I will quit nicotine and stop vaping one day, but as of now I'm vaping less just because I am loosing the "need" for it. Still love nice fancy looking gear though. :D

First, good luck in your quitting.

I would like to point out, that I don't know what device he was using. I can only guess at what kind he was using. Most of these types of accidents happen when people use mechanical mods and do not heed the warnings. Usually, they buy cheap batteries, or use too low of a resistance than what the battery is stated for.. in other words, they break the rules. I cannot blame the Ecigarette for this any more than I can blame a car for causing an accident. There's nothing new in the ecig technology that separates them from most portable battery devices. They contain lithium ion batteries, just like cellphones, laptops, etc...

It is estimated that about 40 people in the US are injured to cellphone battery misuse. shipping airlines have refused to ship lithium ion batteries. Lithium Ion batteries are powerfull, and thus should be held with respect. People who underestimate them run the risk of having severe damage done to them. This incidence will probably be used as ammo against the ecig industry. Cigarettes, however, don't cause immediate damage like an exploding lithium ion battery does. continuing to smoke a regular cigarette will kill you faster than an ecigarette will, and that is the whole point of ecigarettes.. harm reduction. Yes, this one person did get injured.. there have been other cases of ecigarettes exploding due to misuse... It's the misuse that caused it, not the ecigarette itself. The news will report any problems with ecigarettes because it's news.. however, when was the last time you heard of someone being injured in a car accident? has it stopped you from driving? It's become so commonplace that people diefrom abusing their driving, that it's no longer front page news.

I was never scared of any vaporizers.

Some stuff about eliquid worried me but that was the great thing about vaping.....the ability to "customize" your vape, and use/not use certain stuff.

I wish you a lot of luck and I like to hear success stories. Come back and let us know how you are doing!

I am at 0% nic now and think I can probably quit vaping, but I still enjoy the behavioral aspect and find it relaxing.
