I have been vaping and toying with quitting analogs for almost a year now. The new cigarette tax goes into effect tomorrow and I absolutly refuse to pay an extra $1 a pack as I am paying over $300 a month now for cigarettes between my wife and I. So thank you Obama for the kick in the .... I needed to get off analogs. Is anyone else planing to quit rather than pay the tax?

I wish I could use that as a reason to make myself quit analogs 100% for good :( But I get my analogs for free.. makes it harder to put em down permanently. What I need is a swift kick in the rear. And maybe a surge strip to ensure I keep all my batteries charged.. If I remember right.. the 6 weeks I went on the e-cigs without a single analog I was using up about 2-3 batteries a day and a TON of juice. Not that it was a problem.. I fell off the band wagon when I got my winter cold/cough whatever you want to call it.. I had a bit of fluid buildup in my lungs and the e-cigs were itching when I tried to smoke em so I went back to analogs "just til I got over it" and well.. that was about 4 months ago..anyone willing to come to phoneix and kick my .... and take away my lighters? (all 8 of them) lol

...damn I talk too much

Easier said than done for me... It worked last time.. when I first got in my ecigs I did half & half with analogs for about 2 weeks, then I got a nice fat order in around my birthday with juice and carts and a couple more 901's and I just didn't want analogs.. they disgusted me. But I was smoking full flavors back then, the ones I get for free are menthol that seems to be a whole other issue to combat for me

soo... i kind of have something to confess. I am headed to LasVegas for my birthday next week for 3days and 4nights of drunken debauchery and i am fully planning on willfully smoking analogs most of the time i am there. I have been vaping since Jan and have not even had a slight craving for a traditional cancer stick since.

I'ts not that i have the craving now but i could just pictures myself , 5 casinos away from my room , stumbling around trying to drip some juice into my atomizer after having 10 free cocktails and either spilling my juice or dropping my device all together and breaking it. Id rather not risk it. During the day i will vape... but once i start drinking (which is rare anyway , only once or twice a year do i ever get truly hammered ) id rather not worry weather or not i just sat on and broke my 901.

please forgive me :)

/ponders how one gets free anything much less analogs:confused::confused::confused:

I slipped my first try and its been alot harder this second try. Now with my cholesterol being high and the unknowns of my husbands scans concerning cancer and the 3 atomizers flaking bridges this is getting stressful again.. I wish you luck and if you can put them down once dont go back cause its harder the next go round. /Prays I stay strong..

I've been a smoker for 20 years.

I have not smoked an analog since January (the day the Dura arrived)

I tried a drag of a friends marlboro.....hmmm I thought...."ashtray flavor"

so glad I quit analogs and fortunate not to crave them at all in any way.

I have found there to be 3 reactions to e-cig:

1. Those who embrace it fully and never look back (me)

2. Those who embrace it but still smoke analogs/ecigs 50/50 (my best friend)

3. and those who don't even want to try it (my stubborn step-dad)

All you quitters are making me jealous. I did quit for about two weeks until I got ahold of some 36mg juce. Became more addicted to nick than ever. Went from two packs a day to three plus vaping. Now I use 24mg juice and cut back to 2 packs a day. I'll keep the 36mg juce handy and use it as a treat when I'm really craving analogs. Thanks for the words of support.

Thanks
Brian

was in Vegas a few weeks back, thought for sure between the drinking and gambling I would have to have a analog.....stuck to my 901 and I didn't break it either. I think I dripped just fine at least what I remeber......and I did more then my share of drinking.

I quit cold turkey on 02/26/2009 I went through 3 days of nicotine fits before I discovered E-cigs. I immediately started vaping zero nicotine juice and was surprised at how it helped me cope with the nicotine withdrawals. If it weren't for E-cigs and my zero Nic juice, I might not still be married. :D
The upcoming tax was my incentive as well. I went to roll your own, buying bulk tobacco and cartons of tubes about two years ago when Texas raised cigarette tax by one dollar a pack. This method only cost us about $1.00 per pack. But Thanks to BO, bulk tobacco for RYOs is going to be taxed $24.78 per lb. That would have brought RYOs/MYOs up to a cost of about $2.25 per pack. I just decided that Uncle Sam gets too much of my money as it is.

yeah , i'm going to try my best. But i'm preparing myself to not feel guilty if i get all the way down to Mandalay Bay , spill all my juice and am forced to have an analog.. ha ha ha ..
