I have a couple of buddies who vape and I am thinking it's time to quit smoking for this seemingly better alternative.

I'm not a heavy smoker, never have been but I smoke about 8-12 cigarettes a day, up to about 20 if I'm drinking though.

I am in Canada, my friend recommended a website called canvape.com and it seems to be one of the better websites for Canada.

My buddy has a Joytech Ego Twist 1000mAh battery and a V3+ eGo Vision Stardust Clearomizer Dual Coil...

Seemed pretty decent to me but I'm not so sure.

I plan on vaping 50/50 eliquid from paradise vapes, prefer a 50/50 AT LEAST solution as PG doesn't make me feel the greatest..hopefully even 100% VG but I heard it messes up your battery..

Suggestions much appreciated!

Sounds an ideal starter kit. If you don't get on with the clearomizer there are many others that will fit an ego battery, so it gives you a lot of flexibility. 100% VG can clog your coil. You can thin it with a little distilled water, or ready-made liquids may well come already thinned. Or just accept that you are going to have to replace your coil more often.

All the best with quitting smoking!

Personally I'm a big fan of Kanger products, I have been using them for a while and have no complaints. As far as batteries go there are a lot out there. If you can afford it get one that is at least variable voltage, in my experience fixed voltage batteries do not do justice to all e-liquids. VG/PG ratio tends to be a personal preference to most.

Hope this helped a little.

Thanks for the replies guys.

TreoTahoe, which of these clearomizers are the better option and why?

Londongirl how much water should be used to dilute the 100% VG solution, for instance in a 10ml bottle or 30 ml...or...

Crg31953, I had an issue spotting a variable voltage battery on the website in question...do you see one, I find the website a little techie : canvape.com

Higher VG juices, as the guy above me stated, only really affect how well your tank will wick. Whereas, higher PG juices can more easily flood your device (mostly specific to dripping and potentially cartos). As for the setup, as I do with most, I would recommend the MVP 2.0 with one of the pyrex glass bottom coil tanks. Protank 1/2/3 and the mini versions, Aerotank, Nautilus, etc. I always suggest the MVP 2.0 as a starter mod because it jumps two steps in the chain and provides you a very satisfying beginning vape and still has room to move up the ladder. The much larger internal battery life, the ohm checker, variable wattage and voltage all make this device great. Those combined with the fact that you can pick it up with a charger, tank, etc all included for ~$40 is just amazing.

Variable Voltage/Wattage APV

There are your variable voltage devices on that site.

I Prefer the Aerotank mini, reason is the airflow, wicking ability, and flavor plus you can get a SS tank section so its not as fragile with the glass section

Smoktech has good batteries, I use their ARO 2000mAh vv/vw , Vision has good batteries Kanger has good batteries. I don't know what is available around you but if you need help, I'm around and so are a lot of experienced vapors on this forum.
I use Myvaporstore, Aqua Vapor and Misthub usually has some pretty good sales on stuff.

I would highly suggest avoiding PG if it bothers you. That's not a good way to quit smoking, if PG makes you feel worse than tobacco then there is less incentive to stay off of death sticks!

I do suggest getting 100% VG juice and perhaps buying a dripper settup as they work wonderfully with VG juice and they produce mad volume in vapor. It will surely impress friends :)

My suggestion is to check out these setups. They work well for beginners. You will need to wrap your own coils but it's very simple and there are many videos to show you how.

Cloud Chasing Kits

The king with the trident is a sick combo. I would suggest it of the available options.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvj3AutDjVk - Additionally here is a video reviewing the kits and showing you how to do the coils / wicking. The kit contains EVERYTHING you need to get started for only a bit over $100!
