MikeA is right! Find your higher nicotine level liquid that kicks in for you when you want a cigarette and a flavor that will help your head identify that you are getting a higher level.

The French (or called France) Pipe I have (and sent some to MikeA) isn't available anymore, however, ask dealers if they have some that has a strong smoky tone.

Next to that, Cuban Cigar has a big cigarette like flavor usually (remember, liquid can be from different manufacturers, so get good recommendations, a small sample from a vendor or try a friend's if you can before buying).

I actually first used 24mg Cherry on top of a 11mg marlboro tobacco liquid when I wanted a cigarette... the 24mg calmed down the craving, and went well with the tobacco flavor. Found Menthol to work even better (throat hit/24mg), so dedicated one atomizer to it (since the flavor will stick to an atty).

It takes a while, but the cravings will go away. After 6 months (no cigs), I'll still get an odd craving once in a while and it passes quickly. It is more of a "what is missing?" feeling now, rather than "OMG, I WANT/NEED/GOTTAHAVE a ciggy!!"

Hang in there, each day is a huge victory. Celebrate each one.

This has got to be the best websit on the internet. I just read and read till my eyes were sore. I have COPD and need to quit smoking. I'm so glad I found this website. So I've now ordered the Joye 510 and the DSE 901. I can't wait for them to arrive. Thanks to all on this site for being so inspiring and informative.

A future non-smoker:thumbs:

Thanks to all on this site for being so inspiring and informative.
Outstanding, and good move on jumping in head first.
I read for days and days before I finally took the plunge.

Might want to take a glance through the thread linked in my signature.
It will give you a good overview of what to expect.

Hi Brian I think the best thing to do is not put yourself under too much pressure.

I did not buy my first e-cig to stop smoking and continued to smoke and vape for a couple of months .

I went from 40ish a day to 3 in 24 hrs without trying.

Try smoking when you most need one, most people say 1 st thing in the morning and after a meal .

I know the one I found I wanted most was the one I had sitting in the garden in the evening when I came home from work.

One day it made me feel ill I put it out and that was it.

Be positive count the ones you dont smoke not the ones you do ;)

Good luck.

I have found that vaping is the loophole I have been searching for.

I quit smoking cigs but didn't give up "smoking". No sweating or super mean moods like every other time I quit cigs! (and I have "quit" at least twice a year for the last ten years)

I haven't had an analog in 63 days. My family is really proud of me.

It took a few months of doing both until I felt I had a handle on vaping. I am bit slow, though!! ;)

I got a freebie of two bottles from a vendor just marked "Cigar" and I have no idea whether it's French or Cuban. I do know that I use it in most DIY mixes I make.

Great tobacco flavor and a hint of nut in the aftertaste.

The heavy pipe and cigar flavors can be the ticket to kick you off of the coffin nails! I cut the French Pipe down by at least half (because it is 36mg) and the smoke flavor still kicks me in the head. Vaping it right now! Gives me that ahhhh just had a ciggy feeling. Nice.

Way to go Pixie and Wellsy! Just remember we're all here for you and help is just a quick post away!

This is such a great thread, I don't know what else to add. We all have similar addictions and different solutions! I smoked analogs for 39 years and really wanted to quit.

I'd tried the patch and the gum several times with great difficulty and always went back to the analog.

I'm just 20 days into this with the e-cig. My banner says smoke free; but actually I have smoked analogs, probably the equivalent of two packs in 20 days! This is still a remarkable feat given that I usually smoked two packs a day!!!

To be honest, there is something missing with the e-cig...it is just not the same...I keep trying to tweak it...BUT the truth is, I no longer have a brown stain on my upper lip, my house is starting to smell better, I have gotten all my sweaters and winter coats cleaned and I smell SO much better...maybe I won't die...I could go on and on. The bottom line is the e-cig is not the same as an analog but if you want to quit I think it is the answer!

I know there are many vapers out there who started vaping and never looked back. Bravo to them. For some of us it is just not that easy. But having tried almost everything else to quit...I think this is the answer.

I should have my 510 any day now so we'll see how that goes. One thing I've been doing in the interim is smoking Newport Lights. That way I'm already getting used to less nicotine and lighter flavor.

Also I've been changing up the routines because there is a definite pattern to my smoking habits. I've been bringing my e-cig to work and leaving the newports at home and that seems to be working rather well. It seems there is a rather large psychological aspect to the whole thing.

Once I get the 510 and settle on a flavor, I plan to fully implement the "vape or nothing" approach.
