Quitting vaping? A step ahead of quitting smoking? I think not!

Soooo... my GF and I are still smoking analogs {significantly LESS since we started vaping} and we were talking the other day and she said, "So when do you think you want to stop vaping"? Um, excuse me

I explained that I really *don't* want to stop vaping, even after I've completely quit analogs. I'd be happy vaping forever :p

With that said, I am wanting and willing to eventually go zero nic {within the next year or so}

What are your thoughts on this? Have any of you run into the whole "well you've stopped smoking, so now you don't need to vape anymore... when are you quitting vaping?" scenario?

LOL {stuff a sock in her mouth} ~ I think now that she's vaping, she's coming around to the idea of continuing to vape. She's totally supportive, so that's good ;)

Oh yea, of course {about the 0 nic} ... I am giving myself permission to wean down and am actually really, really pleasantly surprised that I've weaned down so much off analogs in such a short period of time :)

I have been stepping down slow about every 3 months. Im at 12 mg now but I do use 0 nic at night with no cravings. The only thing I miss though is the lack of throat hit on lower nic but you get used to it. Its not the nic that bothers me but I am trying to wean myself off of it just in case the POWERS THAT BE decide that they need to save us from ourselves  Lord help that the working people might have a little pleasure!!!

But also there is other stuff in cigs that keep you hooked because even with vaping the first month I fell apart! Now I feel great and honestly have hardly any cravings. Im not the type that wants to vape everywhere I go and I can go hours without missing it.

I have been vaping and analog free for 7 months now, and found the transition from analog to vaping to be surprisingly easy. 1 to 1.5 pack a day habit for about 30 years. Started at 24 mg and have recently moved down to 18. I found that some of the liquids I liked at 24 just didn't give me enough TH at 18, but in the last month or so i have found the flavors that work. I don't know that I have a plan to get to 0 any time soon, but will probably try stepping down another notch in a couple months. Whatever keeps you off the analogs is the best plan :)

I read it in a way as if she were nagging you. "Bla Blah Blah, When are you quitting Blah blah blah" If it was just a question out of curiosity than so be it. :) Not saying that she is, but she shouldn't be pressuring you in any way when it comes to vaping. Cigs on the other hand.....

:)

Even if/when I get to zero nic, I will continue to vape. I'm totally addicted to the hand-to-mouth habit. I started out 9 months ago at 24mg. Gave up the cigs totally 1 month into vaping. I'm just now down to 9mg for the last month or so. I've been stepping down in 3mg increments. No time frame, just when the nic starts to feel harsh to me.

I think that the majority of people that don't vape beleive that e-cigs are something to use while you transition to giving it all up, which should only take us a few months at most.

I remember when I'd been vaping for a 1-3 months and everyone was thrilled I'd given up smoking. :) At the sixth month mark I had family telling me they were sorry it wasnt working for me:confused: they expected me to be totally quit using an ecig by then so if I was still using it then it must not be working :?: When I reached the one year point most strangers thought it was great I hadnt smoked in an entire year. Once I got over the two year mark even strangers gave me that look when I said I havent smoked in over two years while I'm vaping since almost all of them beleive I should have stopped already.

If I REALLY want to blow their minds I tell them I rarely use nicotine in my juice  This fact tends to cause total confusion and even a sense of anger in some cases. Those opposed to vaping cant use many of the standard arguments againist ecigs and pretty much have to resort to the fact that they simply don't wish to see anything being used that resembles a cig in their minds. After all, we must protect the children from seeing vapor

I have been vapping without smoking for a little over 3 weeks. I tell people I quit smoking, but when some of them see me vape they are like, "that doesn't mean you quit smoking." I was with some relatives this weekend and even some said, you vape more than when you even smoked. I just laugh it off, since they all have there vices as well. They are just not social accepted to critique like smoking or vaping is.

I plan to vape till the day they throw my body into the fire. Vape at 18mg; tried 24 and it's a bit much for me most of the time but serves a purpose when needed. May eventually DIY some lower nic level out of curiosity, but only out of curiosity. When people ask me when/if I'm going to quit/cut down/step down nic levels, I just smile and say "nope!"

I've been vaping for four years now.
I started with 12mg strength and I am still using 12mg strength.

I have no intentions of ever lowering that because I've come to understand the risks and benefits of nicotine.
When people quit drinking coffee and energy drinks they can talk to me about quitting nicotine.

Nobody talks to me about quitting nicotine anymore.
And anybody that does will be sorry they did.
