I searched the forums but didn't find any section for those that want to discuss quitting vaping. I've seen a few threads scattered across different sections but it would certainly be nice to have an area dedicated to those looking to quit vaping or those of us (myself) that already quit and would enjoy the support of others as well as help others.

This would make a great addition IMO.

Not at all, I vaped for nearly 6 and a half months and stopped vaping completely a week ago today. For me vaping wasn't a means to an end, quitting everything altogether just happened, but having spent some time on this forum I know that a lot of people pick up vaping in the hopes of one day being completely free of nicotine addiction.

My point is that the forum focuses solely on vaping, a very small section dedicated to switching from smoking to vaping, but nothing about quitting vaping. Having quit both smoking and vaping, the difference between the 2 is night and day. The symptoms are different, the cravings, the urges are all different and it would be nice to have a place to talk between former vapers, encourage others who want to quit vaping and even show new vapers that quitting isn't all that difficult.

+1 Sounds like an excellent idea. I have run across similar threads concerning e-cig users wishing to take that final step away from nicotine, but need additional info or support on how to successfully do it. Like it or not, us e-ciggers are still addicted. A sub-forum dedicated to quitting vaping would be a big step in offering direct support to those that want it. Not to mention a sub-forum of this type might be a good reference point to show how effective e-cigs were in the fight to quit smoking all together. :2c::2c:

I will mirror DevilFishPhil's concerns. I love to vape and do not plan to stop anytime soon BUT there has not been enough done for people who want to quit smoking by weaning themselves down by using an e-cig.

There are almost no places to discuss quitting smoking in this manner nor are there a lot of companies who make vaping products with a step down plan.

There are people who need to quit smoking for health reasons. Some believe they need to "quit smoking" and have not convinced themselves yet that it is still o.k. to vape. Teach them to head for that goal with an e-cig and they can continue to vape if their health will allow for it and if they get comfortable with the idea.

I am a strong believer in E-cigs being sold and marketed for the purposes of helping someone to quit smoking.

It's been 2 weeks now since I've quit vaping and I've noticed that a lot of people who mocked my e-cig, saying I was just trading one addiction for another have suddenly changed their tune now that they've witnessed how easily I've quit e-cigs.

The community needs to hear success stories, people who quit or are thinking of quitting need a place to seek support and advice...

Happy Holidays everyone!

I have no intention of quitting but I agree with you. It would be good for those who want to quit and might give us an idea how many vapors quit altogether.
It would be nice if the powers that be chimed in on this.

The forum should indeed be all about vaping, but that's just the problem - it's not: quitting is a huge part of it IMO. Also do you really think that the Atheist Vapers section is more related to vaping than "Quitting vaping"? :)

I think I've mentioned it a few times, but for a lot of people vaping is meant to be a means to an end, not to pick up a new addiction. I'm convinced that there are a lot of people who would love to quit vaping but might not have thought about it until they heard other people's success stories, similar to how a lot of people started vaping in the first place from hearing people's success stories.

If quitting vaping is what you desire, then good for you. I am glad you have found what you want. I really think this forum is all about vaping though. Just my :2c:.

i read DevilFishPhil's post when he first quit everything and was very happy that someone had done this. first off congratulations on quitting everything DevilFishPhil. Most people viewing this forum, imo, are not looking to quit though, they are looking for a safer alternative. wile quitting smoking has its great health benefits, like living lol, i would never be able to stop without an ecig and the constant use of my devices just because I had no reason to want to quite. in the long run the flavors available and the cool techy stuff is what got me into vaping and after a wile pointed out what smoking had done to my body do to the thing that I can do now conpaired to when I smoked. I do think there are individuals out there like DevilFishPhil that start on this journey looking to quit everything and they need everyone's full support and there own section on this awesome forum too. just my 2 cents
