This is Rad. I'm new here and new to e-cigs. I'm a former smoker and would like to help my friends who smoke to quit. I'd like to buy e-cigs for them but have a lot to learn. Looks like I may have found the right place.

welcome aboard, I found it's easier to get friends interested and let them try out your set up. Some of my friends took to it well, others took time to get on board. A few still do smoke and didn't show any interest at all. It's all in the individuals will to use them and put down the filthy habit.

Thanks for the the welcomes and quick response. A friendly place indeed. Is there an e-cig 101 that you'd suggest I start with. I'd like to think I'm half way intelligent (did my grad work in chem-engineeering) but I'm quite ignorant about how e-cigs work, what is in the liquid/vapor and so forth.

Everything in here's a great read. Your question is tough one to answer, depends on what's important to you. Cost, battery life, size, looks, power....etc, etc.
Personally I started w/an itaste vv, loved it for variable voltage and pass through charging. But to each his/her own.

I do recommend trying several types of tanks/atomizers to figure out what you like best.
Try all the flavors you can get your hands on, if you have a local store w/a tasting bar, you should go check them out. And try EVERY flavor...I was shocked by what I liked and what I didn't.

Read, read, and read some more on ECF. YouTube is also a great resource.

I'll undoubtedly try it myself, but actually I'm more interested in finding something I can get a couple of my friends to use instead of smoking. Needs to be a vape-pen style and as easy to use as smoking cigarettes. Needs to be reliable and easy to maintain. Cost is always a factor but I'm looking for something that will last rather than something cheap that won't.

ahhh...you're a good friend. My friends had the Blus, just for when they were unable to smoke. So I only got them a little step up, ego style, 5 for like $20 from fasttech and some iclear16s, let them pick some liquids from my stash to fill them. Planning on stopping by the B&M to try some additional ones, and will pick them will pick them up a bottle, assuming they still like it by tmrw. But if they want a nicer shiny toy once they see all the options, they're on their own!
