I notcied the radio sometimes gets fuzzy while vaping with a metal drip tip.

I found this similar thread
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...n/284575-weird-static-noise-while-vaping.html

I guess vaping with a metal drip tip (and maybe even plastic etc) is either making radio waves worse (even when no radios are on) or just acknowledging them (not worse than what's already there).

Does anyone know if there's any concern for this?
It's probably almost nothing, but I have somewhat of a cell phone radiation phobia and enjoy earthing (bare feet/skin on earth to ground electricity).
Thanks.

What PV? And what device attached to it?

I just tried everything to get both a Vamo 2 and a Tesla to generate RF interference to both an AM and FM radio - they don't. However if you are vaping a passthrough that's plugged it that's a whole 'nother story. Chargers generate an exasperating amount of RF noise, and a plugged in passthrough is nothing more than a plugged in charger you can vape with too.

the circuits in a VV/VW mod have some things in common with a radio transmitter, but everything is encased in metal connected to the negative of the battery. Electronics study was a long time ago for me, I have no idea, but it's interesting.

I can't imagine why the drip tip would matter, does activating the mod while it isn't touching your mouth cause static with a metal drip tip?

anyway, I watch for someone with knowledge to chime in, and in the meantime, do lots of experiments, and record the results after each, then report back ;)

No, I only hear static when the metal's touching my lip and the MOD's firing.

I think it only happened a Smoktech Groove which is basically an iTaste MVP. Not sure about the EGO twist I had.

why do you think that grounding yourself is an advantage when using a cell phone? I would think that then you have more opportunity to be a conductor rather than just be irradiated.

While using a cell phone, I know nothing about. I just heard a lot of good things about earthing/grounding.

Ok. MVP on one end, metal drip tip on the other end. What DEVICE are you using? What's in between the PV and the drip tip?

The reason I'm asking is the matter of whether the metal drip tip is actually in contact with the PV. On a steel carto? Yeah - it would. ProTank - any model? No - it don't. It's insulated from the PV itself by the design of the ProTank and not making contact. In the former case you have the potential for the entire device to act as an antenna from PV to drip tip. In the latter you don't.

Have you tried just firing the PV very close to the radio - no lips involved - to see what happens? That's with I did with the Vamo and Tesla - up down and all around two different radios/antennas and they produced nothing. But you may have an exceptionally noisy device, for several possible reasons.

Just trying to figger out what's going on here. It's nothing to be worried about but it is a curiosity. (A potentially annoying curiosity...)

It's with a Protank and IGO-W. It happens with a plug-in radio and car radio. FWIW, I'm not near any high tension wires. The plug-in radio changes stations sometimes depending on where I'm standing in the room without using the PV. Sometimes air traffic controll or something completely takes over the radio. I just tried to make fuzz besides with the PV in my lips. The most fuzz is with my wet tongue, but I can get it to fuzz if I fire the pv against my leg skin. I can make a lot of fuzz firing the PV really close to the plug-in radio and not touching anything on me except the hand that's activating the mod.

Didnt the Groove have a crazy safety recall/destroy thing happen a few months back? Maybe that has something to do with it - I do not remember specifics - something about lacking insulation and venting I believe?
I'm using the plastic Groove which doesn't have the safety risk as the metal version which went thermal once or twice on people (the metal case was screwed together. The screws stuck out more than they should. The battery had no protective shell. People dropped the Mod and the screws punctured the battery and it went thermal out the vents). Others with Vamos eVics etc are hearing the static, too, so it's not only the Groove.

Regardless, it's still gotta be much much safer than smoking.

Sounds to me like the problem is with the radio more than your PV. Like it's not grounded right or something.
