Yeah I would NOT buy that. I am currently working for "The Shack" (Plz pray for me lol), and I am very familiar with that particular charger and battery. There is a very good reason for it being on clearance, theyr'e like boomerangs. Send them out the door, they come back in the door with problems. I probably had a 75% return rate on that particular battery. Usually the charger had a short in it or it would get hot enough to melt the battery wrap and mangle the slot the battery fit in. I would definitely not let that thing charge without watching it closely. I know the ones that I have currently have in our district the batteries expired in them.
P.S. Some tips for shopping at the shack.
1. If you want customer service, act like your really interested in a wireless phone, then pull out your phone battery, fuse or bring up what you really wanted. The SA's are so geared/pressured to wireless sales they would probably do some unmentionables for you if you just act like you might be getting a phone.
2. If you buy something from RS inspect the packaging very carefully and even request that you open it in the store before leaving. Why?, you ask, returned items are the favorite thing to sell at the shack.
3. Sales Associates are required to badger you to death with offers on wireless phones, batteries, and the service plan. So when they ask just be polite and say "no", no reason to bite someone's head off because they are just doing their job.
Didn't mean to hi-jack the thread, but I have too warn people. Not to mention I had a bad day @ work.
