I actually started using e cigs a few weeks ago and completely had no urge to smoke or even use the e cig for at least a week. Then I got really stressed out about something and had to have some nicotine but didn't have any cartridges on hand so I ran to the store to get some regular cigarettes. Now it feels like I am addicted again because of having to wait for the mail to deliver my next shipment. I am thinking maybe I should begins stocking up for World War III or when e cigarettes get banned by foolish politicians.

There will always be someone that doesn't care and will ship...

I agree, you can get Cuban cigars shipped here and they have been banned since the 60's.

However, I don't know how long the liquid nic will last? I don't think that you can hoard this stuff for an extended period of time OR how the common folk can extract some natural form to keep us flush with nic?

I wonder if we can buy gallons of this stuff and freeze it?

Oh man, you guys think like me! When this board went down I thought. Oh great, just when I thought I'd found the perfect solution, some $%@$# politician or bureaucrat shut it down. I was frantic!

Ten to one something will happen to curb this great thing (I hope I'm wrong!)

But then again, Obama is a smoker. Maybe he could champion the cause?:thumb:

Common and complete ...... can manage to make ...., it's not exactly rocket science.

Although since it's a similar process if you're buying the stuff to extract nicotine expect to be visited by the police.

Myk, you've got to explain that!

I've no interest at all in making .... or anything else illegal for that matter - but a reliable, controllable method of extracting nicotine is just about the holy grail of this forum.

Yes, some will want to know 'how strong will it be?' ie mg/ml but personally I'd be willing to experiment with dilutions till I thought I'd got it right to suit myself. If I'm producing it for my own personal use that is my business and no-one else's. And nicotine per se isn't illegal here in UK. ;)

Only concern is that your method might produce the kind of 'crack' nicotine which has been mentioned elsewhere, by TropicalBob if I'm right. That really didn't sound appealing at all...

Fingers crossed you do have that holy grail tucked in your pocket (or brain).

I don't know the specifics to make .... and since I've never refined either I couldn't give the instructions on how to do it.
But I know it's highschool chemistry stuff (invented in the early 1800's and it used to be in science books). You bind the chemicals with certain things, then bind them with other things and each time it comes out purer, you end with it bound in something you can cleanly distill it out of.

A better plan would be to have someone who knows higher level chemistry tell you how to do it. And I would also couple that with an honest doctor who knows what they're talking about because I don't think it's "nicotine" we're after.
You would need to find what the nicotine in tobacco (which is also not "nicotine") turns into when burned and then create that chemical since the e-cigs don't burn, and it's likely different between burning into a smoke and heating into a vapor.

You're just as (or more) likely to create something more like Black Leaf 40 than a drug form of nicotine and I don't think you want to be inhaling that vapor.

<sigh> No holy grail after all, then.

We've got to get ourselves some chemists in this forum. Unfortunately, short of running around with a supersized virtual butterfly net I have no idea how this might be achieved.

I still hope you're right in principle though, Myk, and it isn't rocket science and if we get the right information and technique it can be done.

On the side of caution, though - aren't .... labs the places Darwin's theory works when they blow up??

Relax folks even if they ban the e cigarettes I doubt politicians are intelligent enough to ban the eliquid. Hehe. Vape On!

PS: Nicotine can be derived from other sources than tobacco most commonly from chemical reactions in a lab, considering the addiction levels people will go crazy and start making more.

I have a dream... Alcohol and cigarettes will not be banned for as long as I live! -Martin Luther King JR.

I was afraid of running out and read that the juice has a 2 year shelf life, so I am stocked up for months now. I also carry 2 fully charged ecigs when I am out. My bank account isn't happy, but I am:)
