Anything mechanical or the Semovar will give you DC.

A lot of people claim they hear the 'rattle' in other devices, but not in higher frequency PWM devices like the Provari and the MVP (presumably the MVP 2 too, but I don't know...)

I've read that if a device has capacitors in the right places it should be undetectable anyway. I get a weird electrical buzz on my SVD if I don't tighten an atomiser on enough. If I tighten it properly, I can't hear anything.

YMMV... I guess everyone has a 'detection threshold' beyond which it'll bother them, so your only choices are DC or trying a device to see if it's OK.

I don't get the "rattlesnake" sound from any of my mods ... Joyetech eVic, Sigelei Legend, Innokin iTaste VTR, iTaste VV, and hopefully not from my MVP 2 when it arrives ...

I have also vaped with a DNA20 mod and not heard it there either (but I don't actually own one ... yet).

As always ... YMMV!

Those are higher end rigs, either high frequency PWM or direct DC with AC overlay...the Vamo and other more "inexpensive" AVP's that do VW hit at 33.3hz which give that slow hiss or sizzle...its just the result of the on/off cycles of the DC pulse to give the RMS equivalent of the voltage to the coil

I have a Vamo too (albeit one I use mostly as a battery / ohm tester and for building coils on).

Never noticed it there either. I don't think you can say "This device has it, this device doesn't", except in the case of straight DC. Not just because of device variation (which is no doubt *massive* in something like Vamos), but also because people's sensitivity varies.

Well it also depends on the atomizer you are using. If you use a top coil topper then you are more liable to hear it in my experience. If you are using a bottom coil topper like a protank, EVOD or something similar, the noise is reduced to almost imperceptible levels.

Again, just my experience. Personally I like the rattlesnake noise I get from my vamo, but I tend not to use it these days.

It's like having a tiny snake hiding in your clearo guarding your ejuice from the FDA...

Basically atm anything with a 33.3hz chip will pulse width modulate giving the rattlesnake effect. On my SVD which does have it, the only time I hear the rattlesnake is when I just fire it without drawing on the topper, once you start vaping while it is powered, you get the lovely sound of lots of ejuice vaporizing and no rattlesnake sound.
