LGD, I'd like to thank you for this contest. On May 6th, my wife and I were hit by a SUV on my bike. I was in the hospital 6 days. My wife is still in the hospital. I am typing this from her room and the hospitals net connection. This contest was one of the few bright spots in this crappy month of May. ECF has kept my mind occupied and let me feel some joy. I absolutely love this place and the people here. Thanks again for this contest. You rock LGD. The wife really got a kick out of this thread. She especially liked my "stick em' up geo". LOL.

Oh man! bike accidents suck - I've been hit a few times, but never by an SUV and I've always walked away with nothing more than a few broken bones. Three weeks in hospital is bad
Hope both of you & your bike make a full recovery soon & can go home. Good luck.

I got lucky myself. 3 fractures and a broken nose. I'm already starting to walk again. Her left foot and ankle got shattered. She's had 6 surgeries so far. The last one was plastic surgery and skin grafts. She's one tough chick. She said she definately wants to ride again. Lucky for us she clipped the front tire. A split second later and she would have T-boned us head on and I wouldn't be here typing right now. Someone upstairs was looking out for us that day.

Tell your wife I send nothing but good vibes and good karma her way. You two hang in there and continue to browse the forums, jumping in anytime you can.
I was thankful for that hospital signal for about a week when mother was paying a visit. And the ECF gave me laughs and good reads and a connection to the outside.

Hey laborer75...so sorry to hear about you, your wife, and your bike! I ride too and know that there can be some scary a$$ed drivers out there!! Glad you both are okay (for the most part, anyway) and hopefully no lasting damage! <<<but now while riding!!! LOL
