Hello All and Happy Holidays!
I need some advice. I am ready to make the jump and order a Reomizer rba. I have read so many good things about it here.
Here is my question. I am currently vaping with a Cisco 1.5 306 atty with my mini and 65/35 pg/vg juice. I have been very satisfied with the throat hit, warmth, and flavor being put out with this set up but just like most of us I am curious and always looking for bigger & better! :) What do you all recommend for wire gauge & number of coil wraps to best duplicate what I'm using now but just a tad more warmth and flavor??

Your opinions welcomed.

Merry Xmas all.

Well, first you want to make sure reomizer will fit the Mini.

As far as coils, my favorite so far is 7-8 wraps of 32ga kanthal around a DID wrench. Comes up to about 2ohm, so you may need to use fewer wraps. For a wick, I bought cotton yarn. It's made out of 4 strands, I made and attached my coil to the reomizer, and fed 2 strands through it.

For better flavor, I put the coil on the side of the posts rather than between them, and make sure that the air hole is right next to the coil. Don't have a picture of that, posting one with 2 coils (for me 1 tasted better). You can see the wick in the back too.

Rudy I recommend you read this thread, you will get an idea of set-ups for your RBA: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/337822-share-your-wick-coil-setups-your-reo.html

To use the Reomizer on the Mini you will have to use a open end 510/510 adapter. Make sure the center post on any adapter you use is flush with the bottom of the connector. Adapters can cause a short if not adjusted properly.

You can make coils lower than 1.5. It is a process of trial and vaping to find which coil and what ohms rock your vape!

Thank you Nerak- the thread was very helpful!
So this may be a stupid question but: With the RBA and wick setup, I assume you need a different wick/coil setup when changing flavors of juice? That may be a bit of a hassle when one vapes different flavors. That was always the beauty of 306 atty, when i changed from day juice vape to night juice vape i didn't need to change attys.

I just vape until my wick is pretty dry, change juice, squonk and vape. After two or three squonks worth of vaping the first flavor is gone.
If your juice is completely incompatible with what you are switching to, you might want to change out the wick.

You definitely do not need to change the coils when changing flavors. All you need to do is remove the current wick and just slide in another one. It literally takes like a minute (probably less) the process of coil making definitely takes a little longer, but to just change flavors the wick is the only thing to change.

Now I'm different- if the wick is working right, I've left it in place for up to 2 weeks. I can tell when it starts to get that hint of burning taste even if I haven't burned it- I'm sure the wick caramelizes eventually from use. When I take it out, it's black.

Boy that would be fantastic. With silica wicks I can maybe make three days max before having to clean and dryburn. With cotton I can't even make it 24 hours without pulling old wick out, dryburning coil, and inserting new wick. A lot of this depends on juice. Sounds boring, but we both have been using the same basic two juices for two years, with slight additions of flavors for variation. Yup, I went through about 10 lbs of juices trying out all kinds. (Jen has lifted the "no" bag and I still have almost as much here in cooler I'll probably never use.) Former is using pre-built attys or RBAs.

I can get 3-4 days, same juice with Smoketech 1.7 ohm cartos on REO. DH gets more like five days, but not always.

I just asked DH how long he goes with the Mini ViVi Nova (tank), basically same juice but with higher VG content but usually "thinned" down just a bit with plain, no nic VG (He's one of those people who actually likes to vape no flavor nic juice).... He said, "It depends on if I sit on them." (He drops them a lot and sits on them.... about 1.5 tanks and one eGo VV battery need replacing a month.)

Then, he said, "Usually close to two weeks." Wow, no wonder he hasn't asked me to order more Nova replacement attys. (He uses the stock, prebuilt, silica wick coils, for Nova. 2.4 ohm on VV eGo batteries.)

Just wanted to post this info for those just starting out. There are lots of variables in how long a coil/wick will last. In my case my coil/wick would last longer between rewicking and/or cleaning but I do not like the taste when they need changing/cleaning.

Alice, the "no bag" is finally gone! It took awhile, but it has been gifted and pif'ed it from here to all four corners. :)

Great to hear. It's getting to be about time to do another clean-out. It only took me two years to admit to myself that my flavor range is way, way narrow. DH's, too. Makes it easier that we both like same very few flavors. (I don't like his atty-is-in-dire-need-of-cleaning "flavor." And he frequently hands it to me to taste to see if it needs changing. I've caught on now and protest but he begs me to taste it. Brat!!)

Hugs, Big sis

I'm usually wrapping a new coil and wick about every 10-12 ml through mine.

There is no way in heck I'm sliding the wick out and changing it with the same coil .... someone must be wrapping them different than i do :) I use doubled silica (not sure the dia) and wrap pretty tight 5 coils of 30g A1 and it comes out around 1.2 or 1.3 ohms. Its a fine vape on a standard Woodvil (not VV) were I use my REOmizer.

BTW that 10-12 ml is with Boba's Bounty which was a real carto killer for me. And with cisco attys and Boba's I could loose the flavor after the first 2ml sometimes. There are just so many reasons RBAs are better for me.

I've been messing around with an A7 I use with my tube mods, as my REO is in the mail right now! I can never seem to get it to taste as good as my disposable atties. What's the consensus on that, are disposable atties better in terms of flavor/TH/vapor than RBAs?

I do not find disposable atty's to be better at all. It really comes down to the coil and wick that is made for your RBA. So many variables with ohms, coils, and types of wick. All I can say is keep trying, changing things, and you will find that taste and vapor you want.

Hmm right now, I'm using silica, about 5 wraps with 28kg. I'm getting a "dry" hit, almost like I'm breathing in a light powder chalk. I prefer heavy, wetter hits, if that makes any sense. The flavors don't seem to be coming out quite as strong, I will try to take pictures once I get home. I do have some bamboo I purchased earlier, but I'm yet to try it. I also use a hex wrench, wrap the coil around it, and pull my 2.5mm silica through, and it the wick seems almost loose and not touching all the sides. Could that be the issue?
