I'm a reasonably practical guy. I've re-wired rooms and built lights for the stage. There's no reason I should be intimidate by rebuilding coils, right?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good guide for how to start or what to know first?

I know I'll need a new clearo, because I currently use the iClear30B and those are a pain to take apart. I'm green but willing to have a try. Edumacate me.

YouTube is your friend for some great videos on how to rebuild.... also for a beginner RBA I'll suggest the RSST by smok. It comes in plastic and pyrex and is very user friendly. Best of luck to you! :toast:

Make sure you are using a multimeter to test coils and read up on battery safety. Rebuilding is definitely the way to go, just make sure you are doing it safely.
I'll second the RSST for a genesis style, but drippers will be an easier learning platform for most.

I agree with Thugg .. RDAs are easier to learn coil builds on. If you go that route just go on eBay and buy a clone Trident. I suggest that because those have adjustable air flow...very important when dripping.
Good luck

You could rebuild protank coils to start if you're looking for a tank option. My personal favorites at the moment are Taifun GT.
There is also the Kayfun/Russian types that really produce a great vape. Rebuildable cartos are a different story, I would look into the other three options just mentioned instead

Have to say, the thing that puts me off dripping is that it's a bit inconvenient to have to top off between puffs. (One day maybe a REO bottom fed but not yet). I was looking at a clearo or Carto with a 2-6ml capacity that I could rebuild coils for.

Spack -- 4/5 drops is that many puffs so doesnt bother me. then there is the 3D and yeah, Reo and even this one.
VMOD XL A La Carte - VMOD / XL - PREMIER

You will find your niche though as we all do..I also suggest the Kayfun if you go the tank route.
