Hey there fellow vapers,
I've been vaping for about 2 years now, and I recently upgraded to RBAs. My questions about RBAs are mainly what is so good about low ohm vaping? I've asked my friends who have been using RBAs for a while, and they tell me that moving to low ohm allows them to produce more vape. I'm not really into cloud chasing, I just want to experience the full flavor of the juice I buy. Could someone please explain to me how to get full flavor and whether or not low ohm's is the way to go? My current build is a 6/5 wrap of 28 G Kanthal (not sure if it is A1 or not) in a Cryptex atty. I use cotton instead of cheese cloth or silica. My batteries are VTC-5s and my mod is a Magneto clone. Could anyone please point me in the right direction? Also, I am looking to buy wire in bulk and would love anyone's recommendation for a site to pick up some. Thanks!

well what can i say i love to sub ohm!!

I was like you at a point and was hesitant to sub ohm but if you do it right and safely its soooo gooood haha.

My sweet spot is .25ohms incredible amounts of vapour and the flavour is second to none! Depending on what liquids i use i do sometimes go down to the .10-.15 mark to get a really nice warm vape but again the flavour is out of this world!

I have now migrated over to 26650 as going that low it helps having a huge battery and 50amps over 30amps lol

All i can say is give it a go and if you like it then great if not no biggy. Just be SAFE about it, freshly charged vtc5's and try a build around .30/.40 ohms

24g kanthal wrapped 4 times around 2.4mm dual coil let me know how you get on.

any questions dont hesitate to ask

Well, It's all a matter of opinion whether or not severe sub-ohming is better or not. In my experience, flavor doesn't necessarily mean sub ohm. it all depends on your juice and atty. If you're satisfied with the flavor, then there's no need to sub ohm. Chances are though, you're sub-ohming already with dual coils with what you're describing.

The lower the ohms, the less resistance you have. more often than not, that means slower warm up/cool down times and a hotter vape. To me, when I use the thicker wire, I tend to not enjoy the vape as much. I like 28 gauge and sometimes 32 gague. When you go to a thicker wire, you lower the ohms, make the coils heat up hotter. it will lower the battery life, and atomize juice faster. IMO, some juices are better warm and better with sub ohming, but others are actually worse. Imagine lemodade being warm. :)

If you want to try sub-ohming, first get an ohm meter and test it. do what you're doing now, but use thicker wire. try 24 gauge. if you like it, then stick with it. But still stay within the 30 amp limit

here's some links for you...

Ohms law calculator A must
Lightning Vapes A good source for Kanthal and ohm meters
Fasttech good source for toys to play with.. but with a long shipping time.

just some suggestions.

Whatever you do please be safe and if not make up a story that does not involve vaping in case you have a problem.

In your post you do not say what resistance you are currently using. You need to understand ohm's law and know your batteries. As a new builder you need to stay away from a build that if you are off by .16 ohms you are drawing over 30 amps. You need to take a look at some of the battery failure videos on you tube. In a RBA a higher resistance coil, around 1.5, on a regulated mod with higher wattage, over 20, gives a nice vape.

I would be surprised if you had a clone of an inexpensive Chinese mod.

Amazon has 100' rolls of Kanthal and they are a reliable vendor.
