Because you have more e-liquid being wicked into the coils keeping them from flaming up, as well as air flow cooling them down. They don't just flame up for no reason (usually lack of air flow is the culprit)

The reason people get burnt, dry hits is because the wick doesn't have anymore eliquid to wick. More often than not, flaming up of an rda is due to lack of air flow.

edit: juice up an rda and fire it without taking a hit...you will see flames.

November your wattage is good it's your wicking style Bc I'm just going to take a wild guess but I'm going to say the cotton didn't look dry so you keeped going with it and I learned this at a very young age cotton balls not only will burn but will in golf in flames if the right amount of air hits it and one time when I first started vaping I had a couple friends over and we was smoking some wacky weed and I hit my mod a couple times and my buddy reached for it and not thinking I handed it to him and it was completely dry and I got to watch a normal not trained or and conditioned human in hail a complete fire ball down his throught and walk away from that still breathing lol
That's one long "wacky" sentence

No we're not. My grammatical rules only apply to me.
One of my best friends who can't spell worth a lick won a teacher of the year award for her state. Luckily she teaches science.

So glad it was your RDA and not a battery. RDA much easier to extinguish than a battery. LOL CHEERS!

E-liquid just isnt that volatile. Like gasoline to diesel. Gasoline will ignite easier, less heat, at the fumes. Diesel on the other hand doesnt have very much fume unless it is warm. Cool diesel needs flame. Hot diesel will ignite like gasoline by the fumes alone....Only funny the way you said it. "So glad it was your RDA and not a battery. RDA much easier to extinguish than a battery. LOL" Still laughing. Gees that was funny. Any waze...Ive had this happen to me...operator error. I was going through the menu on my APV Advanced Personal Vaporizer, and somehow chose TC Temperature Control. Thought, what a nice feature. Didn't read the directions. That clearly stated, I had the wrong coil installed in the atomizer. Wrong metal for TC. It made a sound, like an explosion, and heated my mouth up a bit, quite a bit actually. I threw my brand new mod at least 10 feet. Just a reflex I seem to have when something makes that sound in my face...lol...wish I would of had a video cam and the lights out. Bet my mouth was lit up. The mod quit firing, and read "check atomizer" as fast as I could throw it. No injury thank goodness. And didn't even hurt the wick or coil. Amazing these APVs are now a days. Thats why it didn't keep burning...10 or 15 second shut off...or just throwing it 10 feet lets your finger off the trigger... cowboy ...Happy Vaping.
