Hi vapers
Having read forums and watching YouTube videos i have decided to have a go at building my own coils for a rda

Would love to hear your recommendations for a basic rda. I dont think i will be building a dual coil set up. Single coil will be more than enough.

Is there a dedicated single coil velocity style rda that you can recommend as i heard its easy to build on.

I currently use a mini volt with nautilus x tank. Switching betwen the 1.5 ohm coil and the 0.6 from the pockex.

I will be looking to build between the 1.0ohm mark to preserve the battery on the mini volt

Thanks very much guys for passing on your knowledge helping out loads of people staying off cigs. As it can easily revert people back on to cigs when equipment is not working correcrly or choosing wrong type of device.

So keep up the good work.

I don't like the Velocity RDAs.

I do like the Velocity post arrangement though, very clever.

I've not found a single coil RDA which adapts this idea, maybe there is, maybe there isn't. What I will say though is if you can do this at all, you do not need the Velocity deck to be successful.
Actually, in all seriousness, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not learning to build on a basic single coil dripper where you have a little more work to do with the wires.

Ideally, if you want a single coil, one with the coil mounted centrally (like NarDA but with different clamps) would be the dream ticket.

Here is a comment from a discussion elsewhere

"The reason I wanted a single coil RDA was so I could drip into the drip tip and have the juice go straight on the coil. Not sure how much of a difference it makes, but when I used dual coil style RDAs I always ended up taking the top off and putting juice directly on the coil, such a pain. Also because I take forever trying to get two coils to heat up at a similar rate..."

The bonus flavor for the first few draws when you can drip straight onto the coil(s) without pulling anything off/out is worth it.

First of all thank you all for taking the time out to reply. I shall checkout the recommended products.

Djsvapour comment from a discussion elsewhere makes sence. Having though about it i would have the same fear about dual coil set up and getting them to fire simultaneously. The dripping direct from the dril dip would be ideal if possible.

Are there any totally leak proof rta.

Have had bad experiences with leaking tanks mainly the vengeance from C. O. V.

either way looking at something that would be suitable on a mini volt.

Single coil RDAs, Probably Hadaly, NarDA, or Govad.
though Govad, AFAIK, only shines when using bigger coils.
If you want a leak proof RTA, go with the OBS Engine line ("Vanilla" Engine and Mini are dual coils, Engine Nano is single coil), i've been using it for a few months, not a single drop. if you dont wick it correctly you'll have spitback though, cause there's nowhere else the juice can go besides shooting up lol.

Hi Tiqy28
Many atty's will allow you to coil either single or dual. When using a single coil you just want to make sure it is located where the airflow to it will be fairly direct. Airflow is very important for any atty to work properly and I've found with my RDA's that airflow from the bottom generally works a bit better. Worst seems to be the side airflows, especially with a large atty, and I think it is because the airflow is not being concentrated on the coil itself. Of course if you want leak proof go with a top air intake (and don't drip too much).

As far as ease of build I think if you can build on one deck then you can build on them all, it really isn't hard, and building dual coils is just a matter of getting their legs the same length so they fire evenly. The only build difficulties I've ever run into are on really small decks with some of the mini atty's and RBA's. That said out of about 10 different RDA's my go to RDA device is a small Ice3 (Ice cube).

RDA's are not my favorite, I prefer RTA's because I don't like to have to constantly drip, I don't find their flavor to be any better, and the vape keeps changing from one draw to the next. I use an RDA primarily to test new juice recipes.
