It's doing that because there's liquid in your airflow. Looking at the Freakshow (never owned one) it looks similar to the magma, so when you're dripping you're probably getting some liquid down there. To keep this from happening, the easiest way would be to take the topcap off and fill the wells. With the Magma you can put your fingers over the outer air holes, but the Freakshow has bigger holes than the Magma so I'm not sure it would work.
