i agree with the above we need more info. but two things some are notorious for getting hotter faster then others, and if its just the rda getting hot it could be, the voltage wattage is too high or your just chain vaping it to death lol

i have one that seems to get hot almost immediately, and i have others that seem to take excessive vaping to get really hot.

as long as your mod/ battery is not getting overheated your probably ok

My stainless steel RBA gets pretty warm if i hit it 3-4 times in a row. It's about 1.4 ohm. Got another one that is a thinner brass and it doesn't even get warm, but the coil on it is 2.9 ohm. As long as it isn't getting so hot that it burns you I'd think you should be fine, but I'm still pretty new to this, so take that advice with a grain of salt.

phoenix v4...the top cap heats up pretty fast like 3 vapes in a row...i did single coil with silica wick...1.1 ohms...

All RDA's get warm, and some get hot. Some dissipate heat quickly, and some retain heat for a long time. It just depends on the material they are made of.
What size air hole for that low resistance coil?

I get the same thing but I chain smoke like crazy. A picture or a list of your equipment would help. I have went through rolls and wick and kanthal trying to find the best setup for me lol. Still a newbie though.

I'm really enjoying my newly acquired Octopus. Picked it up for $10 at a local B & M. The stock coil/wick is 1.7 ohms.

now plug the deckhole. and drill a new airhole right on the wick. and hold on to something when you take a hit :D

i would love to find the exact octopus build in a side airhole model, works ok the way it is but its surprisingly a wicked little atty after being modded,

Hi i'm also having this problem. I've used a genny for a month, and just purchased a nimbus clone from china. Vaped it with the stock coil and it was just ok. So rebuilt it with a cool corkscrew wick with coils on both ends. That the first time my vamo tube got hot all the way to the bottom. My question is did it heat up because of the amount of wick i used (an awful lot compared to stock) or just because both coils were on separate ends of the same wick. thank you.

PLEASE STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING IMMEDIATELY!!!

If your vamo tube is heating up, most likely your battery is venting, which means something is wrong with your atomizer causing the battery to expend all of its voltage at once. This can be very dangerous.

I don't know what a corkscrew wick/coil is, but I'm guessing it's some sort of dual coil setup? Please do some research and learn how to safely use your equipment. Feel free to post pics if you want some advice.

Good BtForest, there's some pretty bad things that can happen if something goes wrong. Google "battery thermal runaway" and you'll see what I mean. It's a good idea to learn the limitations of your mod/batteries as far as amp limit, voltage restrictions, etc. and to learn safety precautions for what to do if something goes wrong. The good thing is you've found ECF and if you do some reading in the APV or MOD forums you'll find tons of useful info. Good luck :)
