I just did a 1.25 Ohm build on my Spire (15W) using 26 gauge kanthal wrapped 10 times around a 3/32" screwdriver. With a max power of 15 Watts you cannot go very much below 1.2 Ohms. There are many ways to get to 1.2 ohms though, check out the site below.

You could even do a dual coil build with 28 gauge kanthal wrapped 13 times around a 2.5mm diameter wrapping post. If you increase the diameter of the wrapping post you can do less wraps. There are hundreds of coil builds that will get you to 1.2 Ohms or over.

Go to this site: Steam Engine | free vaping calculators and play around with the Ohm's Law section (set your voltage at 4.2V in the calculator and plug in different resistance values to see the Amps and Current required) and the Coil Building section. It's an awesome site, and usually predicts my builds to the T but you should really get yourself an ohm reader now that you are getting into rebuilding.

Good luck and be safe.

Edit: Btdubs, I just noticed you're in Colorado! Happy to have another Coloradan on the site! I'm up in Littleton. :)

Thanks for the quick reply. I read that you shouldnt go lower than 1.2 so Imma do 1.3ish to be safe. Now should I do a single 1.3 coil or dual coils reading 1.3 (2.6 each)? Trying to get as much vapor production with 15w as possible.

Rado rocks!

Go with a single coil for now, it will be easier. Move to dual coil when your ready.

Remember, the things that change coil resistance are: 1) Wire Gauge (Thicker = lower resistance) 2) Number of Wraps (less wraps = lower resistance) 3) Diameter of Wrapping Post (smaller diameter = lower resistance) 4) Leg Length (distance from coil to RDA posts) 5) How uniform the coil is.

Colorado rocks most def.

I managed to run a 0.9 Ohm coil on my Vamo, but as the resistance sank, the Vamo started displaying "Short" errors intermittently. It worked most of the time, though.

I just did it to see what would happen, and because I got the wrong coils from a seller. What I really wanted was 1.8 Ohm coils.

Anyway, messing with the lower ohm limit of a regulated device like the Vamo is not worth the hassle, IMO. It won't give you a better vape.
