i have a mutation xs and it has bottom air flow which makes it hard for me to wick because the cotton always accumulates where the air holes are. so if i drip too much they drop into their and leak out but i have fixed that simply by not dripping so much. the real issue i am having is that the juice is splashing all over when vaping on the inside and then dripping down and slowly leaking out of the sides. i often find myself wiping the bottom of my rda, removing it and wiping the pin because it leaks under the rda.

26gauge. not sure what contact or spaced means. not sure on the pg/vg ratio it doesn't say on the bottle and it's a local brand but the owner said it's all VG based but I think he said it's PG based as it has a very nice flavor and doesn't seem too thick compared to VG. I do have 100vg juices but the one I mainly use are like 80/20 I believe vg/pg or 70/30.

For any atomizer with bottom airflow, RDA or RTA, you have to contain the wicks and isolate then as much as possible from the airflow.

Make sure the coil is centered across the bottom airflow. This lets you get the wicks in the well easier. Coil height can make a difference too, the right hieght will let you put the wicks in the well without obstructing the deck airflow.

You also might be dripping too much in general. I have the freakshow mini and I take the too cap off and just drip directly on the wick tails and/or coil.

I just re wicked it because some how my cotton fell apart on one coil and I did as you said it isn't splashing much or at all anymore but yes it still is dripping into air holes but I think that's just because I'm putting too much juice now. I do need to fix my coils as well they are not sitting directly above the air flow at all they are sitting inside the juice well away from the air holes. when I get home today or possible tomorrow I will try what you recommended. I was told to put the coil as close to the posts as possible thus I had it set up like this but then again she had no bottom air flow

Try centering the coils above the airflow holes and be sure to run your wick into the juice chamber. Also, you can adjust your coils to sit at a slight angle (not exactly parallel to the deck) to help the juice flow into the well instead of pooling up on top of the coils.

Yeah those bottom airflow atomizers are picky with the wick. I vape a few RTAs with bottom airflow, so I got used to the whole procedure over time. You'll eventually nail it down.

Check out the coil builds sub forum and look for some examples. There are a lot of posts so it might be difficult to find a coil on the mutation x4, but you might come across one. Work your way backwards. You could also image search on your web browser to get ideas.

Centering a coil can be more difficult on really heavy builds, if you don't care for the bottom airflow than its not an issue. Setting the coil close to the post is debatable depending on the atomizer. Usually we push them far out on the deck, but for a bottom airflow it sometimes works to your advantage to set them back a little. This lets you contain the wicks better. You can also try shorter wick tails, less liquid to hold should give you less leaking.

If you need help with coil positioning we can give you tips too.

that's why there are so many rda designs.

one of my favorites is the 30mm veritas.

Highly leak resistant because there is only one airhole.

Nowadays though, there are top-air-intake rda's such as the manta v2 and Aeolus.

I redid my coils a few times today after screwing them up almost went through 10feet of the wire and I must say it's vaping maybe 5x better now. readjusted the coils so they now sit directly above the air holes, didn't use as much cotton as I used to in my first couple builds so now it isn't leaking as much and I simply am just like 4x the vapor production. a single hit produces what I am now proud to call Clouds lol. need to work on my coil building though every time I'm wrapping it I get the ohm reading slightly but I also am finding myself pushing the outside coils in too hard so they overlap after
