I am dipping into the vaping world and am interested in building a dripping atomizer to use on my Ego twist 1300 mah battery. I will be using a IGo-W. I understand the basic concept of building it. However I am unsure of the capabilities of my battery. I know for sure I won't be able to get crazy with sub ohm coils and what not. The answer I am looking for is what SHOULD my max resistance of the atomizer be for my ego. Also if I could get a rough guess of how many wraps for a dual coil atomizer to be within MY safe resistance range. Thanks for the help.

I bought this battery in my local vape vape shop. I know it is an ego twist vv 1300 mah. I've dis a ampacity test on it. With a 1.8 ohm atty at 4.8v it read approx 2.7. I'm plan on going with two 3.2 ohm coils in parallel for a total of 1.6 ohm. With 2.7 amp capability at 1.6 ohms that should let me vape safely at 4.2v. If I am mistaken please correct me. I appreciate any and all criticizm. Thanks

if you are planning on building coils and using them without checking ohms you really should research more....it's NOT safe

a dual coil build with give you lower resistance usually and your Ego isn't meant for that

putting a coil to your face not knowing what it is, is something I would never do

i agree, you must know how to at least use a multimeter, or one of those cool voltage ohms meters for ecigs. multimeter is 7$ harbor Freight and i got that recommendation from my Mechatronics Professor, but the multi meters are kinda tricky, you have to remember to text the resistance of your test leads and subtract that from the ohms you read on the atty. the voltage/ohms i think do that step for you.
Otherwise, my recommendation in addition to the one i Quoted, is to get a mech mod for RDA's and Learn as much as possible about battery safety.
I believe there is a place in this forum with that exact information in the Beginners subforum. it has links to other cites with more information than you could believe.
im not saying learn everything. just learn enough about safety and using ohms law before making a pretty nasty mistake.
and remember, RDA's are a learning curve. they take some tweaking to make them work most of the time.
i would also recommend if you do get a mech mod, to get a battery fuse as well.
Best of luck

I'm not 100% sure. The name on the side says smoov. Maybe it's not an ego at all? Is smoov rev a comparable model. I would hope that it does. I'm not sure if this makes a differnce but when I take a long hot it will stop and the led will blink. Thanks for being patient with me.

found the manufacturers website, no info on amp limit or short circuit protection.
you should try contacting them about this.

it probably does have protection, never seen an ego style battery that did not.
the protection cuts the power if you try to pull to many amps from the battery.

Thanks for the help Dave. If you could post that manufacturers website I would greatly appreciate that. I found some google links that give the idea of a 5A max. Does this seem plausible to you? Thanks a bunch. -Parker
5 amps is not impossible just highly improbable
