So I'm currently using a MVP v2 with a Trident rebuildable dripping atomizer 28 gauge Kanthal 5-6 wraps and 100% cotton ball wick and getting okay results with it, around 1.2-1.4 ohms, still new to wrapping coils so that may be an issue.

questions for you guys:
1.what gauge do you normally use?
2.how many wraps?
3.have you gotten a dual coil to work on the MVP2?

every time I build a dual coil it doesn't seem like the coils get enough power. Currently thinking about getting a Mech mod and seeing what results I get with that

thanks,
-Argo

Argo, I've been using 32 gauge, 3 to 4 wraps, and usually come out at 1.7 ohms. I use boiled cotton yarn. Tried without boiling and it had a funny kind of taste, so boiling works for me. I just boil a few feet and that lasts me for quite a while, even tho I change wicks often. Haven't tried dual yet, have one on order. But for right now this works flawlessly on the MVP2. Keep at it, it really does become quite easy after a bit.

tired 32 gauge as my first wrap, I may have had too many wraps I think I had around 6 maybe ill try that again with the 3-4. dual coil seems to be tough to get a decent vape on the MVP2, splitting 5V or 11w between two coils, so I don't think it will ever be able to handle dual coils, I hope I'm wrong.

As far as Mech Mods go, what would be a suitable for a first? not really looking to spend over $50 for it

"depending on wire size i run 2.4 ohms with 34ga 1.8 with 32ga and 1.3 with 30ga. anything high with 30ga doesn't hit the way i like and anything lower with 34ga will get dry hits."

Someone posted this as a youtube comment on the mvp with a rda and so far it seems to be my go to when deciding wire gauge and resistance for my builds. Im using a trident clone and a MVP as well and it seems to do well for what it is. Ive also found that the super nano coil does very well compared to a micro coil/peter k type method. If you haven't heard of the super nano coil rip trippers does a great demo on youtube.

For a dual coil build, I would start by using 34 gauge. I think the circuitry in the mvp would have a hard time powering anything larger than 34 in dual mode.

As for mech mods, short answers is yes the results of a good mech are ten fold that of a vv/vw device. There are far fewer limiting factors with a mech, witch means that your options as far as builds improves greatly. Your average regulated device will generally will have between a 2.5 to 5 amp limit. With a mech mod and a high amp imr battery you can pull close to 20/25 amps dependig on your build. Safety is a big factor when using these devices so it is best to learn all you can before diving in. Read up on the relation of voltage, resistance, and amperage.

SAFETY IS IMPORTANT!!!!

For a first mod in your price rang I would suggest a clone of the nemesis by Hcigar.

You must also consider what charger and batteries you will buy. I personally would recommend the sonny vtc4 battery for its 30 amp limit.
