hey guys im not new in the vapor world but i sure am new in the rda/RBA life style.. I just got a job working in a family owned vapor store that i was a customer at so I would like to get all the knowledge i can to help out my customers.

So i was thinking about getting into a rda but there are so many different kinds that im not sure where to start. I will start off by saying i have a mvp Itaste 2.0 and from what i read i should only do 1 coil at about 1.3 ohms nothing less.. Im not a noob to working with tools or wiring things up sense i live on a farm so im pretty handy with tools and im going to college for Computers so im pretty handy with electronics though im not very good with electricity

So far i have determined i need
OHM meter<< would like to know which ones u guys use
cotton or silica wick << prolly would need some advice on what to get
prolly around 28 gauge coil << but if someone could point me into the right direction or i may have a bunch in a barn somewhere lol

Im just trying to do this safely and slowly so if someone comes in and wants to learn about how to do it i can show them.
Looking forward to hearing some good advice from yall :D

Hi and Welcome to ECF :) Congrats on the new job!

As far as using an RDA/RBA on your MVP - its a great duo, but you have to be aware of the amp limit on the MVP - its only 3 amp. If you go down to 1.3 you can only go up to 3.9 Volts, but that is at your limit and is very taxing on your battery. You are better off to stay 1.5 and ^. (calculate your amp draw by dividing voltage by ohms, so 4 volts and 1.3 ohms is 4/1.3= 3.07 Amps).

I use a digital multimeter like this Digital Multimeter you can certainly get just an ohm meter if you wish, but I use a mech so I need to test batteries and other things so this is sort of an "all in one"

You can use either cotton or silica, I use organic cotton balls for wicking in my RDA.

And I use 28ga Kanthal A-1 Resistance wire- specifically this Kanthal Wire 28 Gauge RW0118 - 100 Ft 0.61oz Series A-1 Resistance AWG

Hope that helps to get you started!

You would use watts instead of volts for the calculation if you are operating in watts mode. Its always watts OR volts - you are never using both modes simultaneously.

It is a trickier calculation. Amps = the square root of watts divided by resistance. So the amp draw of 8 watts and 2 ohms = 2

Here are the formulas:

IGO-L and IGO-W are great RDAs to learn coil building with. You can learn the basics, then advance into different styles of coils, experiment with different builds and figure out what works best for you.

Then, once you've got a good idea of what you like as far as coil builds go and you're comfortable with what you're doing you can easily transfer that into any RDA or RBA that you want.

Creepy rolls like that. I didn't even bother after her post. I will put my two cents worth on the RDA though.
Tobeco has cloned the Trident V2 and I got one from C2C for $20....awesome RDA has adjustable airflow that works like a charm!
A1- The Trident V2 clone by tobeco

I also would suggest a clone mechanical as you will eventually need one. King or Nemesis for bottom switch or Poldiac clone or Natural for top button. All around $20 at Fasttech
