RDA v RBA. What gets the best flavor/vapor/hit?

What gets the best flavor/vapor/throat kick?

  • RDA (Dripper - aka Pheonix, A7, IGO-L, Nimbus, etc)

  • RBA (Gen-Style - aka AGA-T, DID, ZEN, AC9)

i got into rda a few weeks ago with the iGoL and a Forge triple post.. wow.
I have 3 or 4 gennies set up, and 3 - 4 drippers + silica tanks... and at first i liked them both the same (but different).

I like the porous ceramic with a thread of cheesecloth under the coil... in my gennies the best; in fact i can wrap cheesecloth thread on the ss mesh too.

but in the last week, all i've been grabbing are my silica wicked attys including the kayfun, Pene, iGo, forge... got a Nimbus on the way, and have a Reomizer 2 on my Reo.

the vape is smoother ...

With regard to rebuildables, I initially started with the Genesis type RBAs. My gennies were fantastic, as compared to all of my previous delivery devices.

In the past 2 months I have been tinkering with silica base designed drippers and tank systems. These latter delivery devices have afforded me my best vaping experience with regard to flavor and vapor performance. Having tried just about every available wicking media and combo, my gennies sit idle.

My favorite rebuildable, based on pure flavor, is the eBarion Dripper Pro.

Nope not for sure, that makes sense & come to think of it familiar. So how about RBA (since rebuildable is one word)?

See that is the part that never made sense to me either. I never understood the idea of abreviating one word with multiple letters. Why not just say RA? I think RDA actually makes more sense than RBA. Perhaps we need to change the original. ;) lol

Agreed! Maybe it's one of those lost in translations kind of things. ;)

RBA has been used enough it's probably here to stay. The B is pointless, I would have prefered RA for rebuildable atomizer. Then sub-categorized to RT (rebuildable tank) and RD (rebuildable dripper). I don't use RDA because of the Smoktech RDA, and usually just call my dripping RBAs "drippers".

Kind of wish ECF had seperate RT section and RD section. I only use drippers so don't read the genny threads. Seems most are mainly into either tanks or drippers.

Is it really that difficult to type out the whole word?
does anyone here actually say "R.D.A." when they are talking?

I call it what it is... a dripper and a tank...

My head hurts when hearing some of the abbreviations people come up with to sound cool/intelligent....
Its getting so out of hand, that when you are searching for a mod or a rebuildable, the description is just a string of abbreviations.

We mustn't forget that the people making and designing most of theses e-cig products, Don't speak english!
These abbreviations don't mean anything to them...

I would have to say that alot to with how they are setup, I have a genny that I prefer more savory flavors in bc they tend to taste a little better when they are warmer, I tend to like more fruity and sweet flavors in my dripper setups. Both produce serious vapor and flavor, However it is a lot simpler to make a good dripper than a good genny. Just my .02

Smoktech (from China) actually came up with RDA (it's what that particular atomizer is called). Everyone else just followed suit and started calling all rebuildable drippers "RDA."

A lot of foreign countries are bilingual and do speak a good deal of English, and they come up with names suitable to the market they are trying to push their products into.

I don't think it's so much a matter of trying to sound intelligent or cool when coming up with acronyms, so much that it makes it easier to say and type out. You don't text "laughing out loud" do you? Not everyone can type all that well. The few seconds it took me to type out this very paragraph may have taken someone else much longer.

You might as well get used to it or just drive yourself nuts getting mad about it.

I guess i'll need a straight jacket then... HA! :)

Acronyms only work, if the industry agrees on their definition...

And since the e-cig industry cant write up a descent set of instruction, or make a half descent mech mod. What makes you think that they are going to understand our poorly thought up acronyms?

I don't think our manufactures are unintelligent... its just that the language barrier is very apparent in this industry.

But, i digress. Pretend i'm not here.

You can't lump genny's in one category, and drippers in another, and come out with "which is better at everything."

There are so many different options, variants, different style tanks, different wick materials, different ohm coils...

The basis of this poll is pretty flawed, I doubt you'll get the answers you want.

And for what it's worth, I hate SMOK for making "RDA" a popular thing. I dislike that acronym. A lot.

For what it's worth, RDA is the only abbreviation that ACTUALLY MAKES SENCE. If you should hate any of them, RBA would be one seeing as an incorrect acronym. Should be R.A. so before you act like your a little miss know it all I would educate yourself.
