re-using a collasped spring?

What he said. I have done it for a couple days till I got my other REO back from the spa. They seem to blow at the worst time. Spare springs is a good idea. I don't carry them for my Woodvils because they need to be soldered whereas the Grand is a easy screw in.

Note to self. . . get a spare to have on hand.

But, but...if you have a backup REO, and you collapse a spring, then you don't have a backup REO anymore :(

I don't feel safe without at least 5 springs and another 6 spare REOs :)

Seriously, though, the spring is your failsafe. You can fashion a replacement using an automotive fuse, but you really need SOME protection, and, as noted, once it's collapsed, the spring won't do that.

But that won't be an issue with the new woodvils, Rob said they'd use the same spring as the metals and not have to be soldered. yay!
