Ready for an upgrade!

So I've been using my eGo for about 2 weeks now and its been great, kept me right of the cigs (aside from one night out )!

I've been really happy with it. I'm completely new to vaping and still know very little about it in terms of technical things, but i feel ready for a home upgrade. I'm happy to keep my eGo for while I'm out and about, I have no issues with that, but I want something more impressive and powerful at home. Something with a large battery life so I can vape in to the night, and something tha really hits with flavour and vape clouds (I know this is largely down to the juice, but surely the kit plays some part?).

However I dont want to be spending buckets, I get paid this Thursday and am looking forward to ordering a new kit - but unfortunately its also Valentines day this thursday -.- Bye bye half of my wage!

So, in short, I'm looking for a cheap(ish) upgrade and really don't know what I want/should be looking at!

Okay, so what difference does the voltage make? Haha n00b. Um, im not too sure as im not sure on my wage, maybe £50? Maybe slightly more or less but i dont wanna go all out on something im relatively new to!

Personally I love my Ovale V8 and would suggest that or maybe the smoktech gripper - I'm not a big fan of the tubes (except the Silver Bullet and telescope mods).

I'll also suggest an EGO twist or spinner, something in the 1100mah range. Not much bigger than what you have now so it's familiar to you, gets you into vv (which you will love!) and gives you a good back up unit (which you need!) and wont break the bank.
This would get you a back up, see if you like vv and keep mama happy all at the same time! Later on you can save up more and get a nicer mod without breaking the bank?

I'm new here too...in my opinion anyway. I'm 9 weeks in...started with ego-c then went to twist & now the smok groove! Love it so far!! Good luck!

And yes you will be able to tell the difference between your reg ego & the twist. The regular egos are I believe 3.4V. The twist is VV up to 5V but personally if I could've done it over again I would've started with the twist & then got my groove. It really depends on how much you want to invest. But if I'd known then what I know now I would've gone big from the start.

The higher the voltage, the more flavor and vapor you'll have. The twist has a bottom knob that goes from 3.2 (your regular ego) to 4.8v. It's a great upgrade. watch this A PBusardo Review - eGo Twist - OvaleUSA - YouTube

ego twist is the same thing apart from the fact that theres a knob (lol) at the bottom that you can twist that will make the vape in ameteur terms warmer and stronger by increasing the flow of electricity or voltage to the carto. Its not really necessary for a newbie.

What you want is a big ego battery, probably a 900mah or 1100mah one
Then get a Mini vivi nova clearomizer, the best around, pour you liquid in and vape it, no stupid tank system with a wick and flow issues, and no sponge filled cartomizer. about £10 quid, or the Kanger T3 another good one, similar thing.

No point getting anything other than an ego, even if your a heavy vaper, If you want a bigger battery, then go for the lavatube.

I've been vaping for a couple of years and let me tell you now, you will buy a provari and a lavatube and mods, you will buy all these fancy tanks and all this funny punched tank business, but I guarantee you, you will most like just go back to an ego with a clearomiser.

So -I'd recommend a -
Ego twist 1100mah vv
mini Vivi nova tank/Kanger T3 - doesn't matter which one, I prefer the nova.

P.s as this is now a mostly american forum most of the stuff recommended is difficult to find in England.

I too suggest an Ego Twist or Spinner. Variable Voltage let's you use different resistances on atomizers, cartomizers, clearomizers, etc. You can vape to taste. I would suggest one with a low resistance Kanger T2 or T3. Hope this helps!

A Twist or Spinner would be an upgrade but only slightly. If you are talking about upgrading out of the eGo style then a Zmax is probably the best within your budget. I do not own one but I have seen a lot of good press here on the forum.

While I agree completely with your sentiment, with the budget set forth they can purchase the APV, but you then have to buy batteries and a charger. Where the OP doesn't have a back up yet, I think this is an affordable and logical step up for right now. They can get their feet wet with VV, have an affordable back up when they step up to something as you suggested and still be in good graces with the finance committee!

Thanks for the correction. I was thinking I had seen a Zmax (or maybe a Vmax) kit within that price range. I also agree that stepping up to a Twist would be a good intro to VV. It was my intro to VV and I still have two Twists as back ups. When I saw "upgrade" I thought about upgrading out of the eGo style all together.

i kinda have a gripe with this. while i do love the nova some people like to vape and also have it ad a hobby. i didn't like my ego after a time cuz once it was dead thats it, its dead. you get into like what you said a lavatube (too much money for what it is I say vamo is a better deal) and now you can just bring an extra batt with you pop a new one in and you're always good to go. right now i have 2400mah batts and there is no way an ego can last as long. for 70 bucks UDS the vamo 2 batts a charger also a full size nova can be had.
