Hi! My name is Krystal, and I've been smoking ecigs for about 4 months, and still using my eGo starter kit, although I've tried a multitude of different atomizers and cartomizers. I found this forum looking for recommendations for a new, larger battery, but saw that it had a really friendly atmosphere and was super informative, so I had to join!

I started smoking ecigs when I needed a way to stay up later for work, and then offered one of them to my boyfriend, who had been smoking for 20+ years. He quit cigarettes cold turkey after being given his first ecig, so there's a plethora of reasons why I love them! So it's a pleasure to meet you all, and for my first newbie question, what is your favorite battery, if price weren't an option (hopefully I can save up by Christmas)?

Hi krystal! Welcome and congrats on the switch to vaping.

If money was no object I'd be going with innokins itaste 134 but as it is an object, my recommendation is the MVP 2. I own that and added the smaller eGo twist to compliment it as a back up.

There are so many that are great and IMO when you turn to a variable voltage/wattage battery you can't go back to something that gives out a standard voltage.
Maybe check out some reviews both here and youtube.

A Reo is a bottom feeding box mod. You put an atomizer on top. The liquid is held in a bottle inside the mod. You press the bottle to squeeze juice straight onto the atomizer. It is like dripping all the time.

Since buying mine, I have stopped using all of my other vaping gear. The $115-140 price range is a bit steep, but considering how much cash I used to buy other vaping gear, they really aren't that bad and still cheaper than a Provari.

Hi Krystal, Welcome to ECF!

I can offer a couple of thoughts here. A GREAT cost effective update to your ego would be the Innokin iTaste VV V3 (I own 2 of these and to of the V2 predecessor), it is a fantastic little battery with adjustable voltage and wattage, and it runs between $32-$40 for the express kit with a charger.

Another good cost effective upgrade would be the Innokin MVP 2. I don't have one of these, but everyone seems to love them. It is a box mod though, so it may take some getting used to.

As for me, I use the Joyetech eVic and I absolutely love it, but it has a much higher cost of entry, about double that of the MVP2 and triple the iTaste VV. It is so far the best device I have owned, but I just got an iTaste VTR, so the jury is currently out on which is better.

Finally, if money were no option, there are a lot of folks that love the Provari and the DNA20 mods, but they tend to run about triple the cost of the eVic, so I don't see one of those in my future for a while.

I hope this helps, but as always, vaping is a really personal experience, so YMMV!

The aforementioned iTaste MVP is an excellent mod which is affordable for most budgets. It uses a built-in rechargeable battery which can last 2 - 3 days on a charge, can be used while it is charging. No need to buy multiple batteries and a separate charger like other mods require.

However, if price is no option a Provari would be the obvious choice. It's a high end VV tube mod built to last years. They are nearly indestructable. LED display, built-in voltage and ohm meter. Not only is its build quality superior to the many Chinese-made mods, it will come with a 1 year warranty. Any issues, Provape will have it fixed and returned to you in less than a week. In the unlikely event that your Provari should need repair after the warranty expires, Provape will still repair it for minimal fees for as long as you own the device.

Chinese-made mods come with a short warranty. They do not do repairs, they only replace. Once the warranty period is finished, consider it a throw-away.
