I find that with a low ohm (1.0-1.2) on my Grand I get a vape very similar to my VV Grand running a 2.2 coil.

For me the mechanical is the way to go. I don't have to worry about a chip failing. I don't have to worry that my VV Grand is going to get cold in my car and stop working. (It does work again as soon as it is warmed up.) I don't have to worry about using batteries in sets and putting the higher v on top. I don't have to pull them before they shut down.

I do not plan on buying another VV REO. Just don't feel the need.

I love both. If you can get the VV, it's a great way to go. Simple no hassle, build a long 2 ohm micro coil and turn the wheel to dial it in. Vape is consistent until batteries run to discharged and the in hand feel / fire button is superb. No noalox required either :)

But no serious vaper should be without atleast one grand. It's mechanical and pretty much infallible. It's the type of mod that's at home anywhere - bouncing along in a belt pack while your tearing up the trails on a dirtbike, sitting next to you when you change the oil on your golf cart, in your pocket when doing yard work or in your hand while you vape whenever wherever.

If you get it soiled, you just wash it in the sink :)

I would have a hard time if I didn't have both VV and standard grand. I'd fight till ya kicked me to sleep if ya tried to take either one.

Here's a pic of my killer metal REOs :)

Heres a recent VV build on a cyclone :)

If your coils and prefered vape fall into the sweet spot for the VV electronics it can be a great consistent vape. I prefer having my options open to run any build instead of what the chip can support. Get the LP, Low Profile, Grand and then you can run any RBA instead of being limited to those that fit in the drip well of the regulars.

This. VV is awesome, but if you get into building your own coils, you will possible regret getting it.

Thanks for the response everyone. It probably doesn't matter which one I start with since I'll likely have both sooner than later. I have found this forum to be very expensive. Early in my vapeing journey I wasn't even a member yet but came often for information. I started reading a lot from a VERY vocal group about this thing they called a Provari. I had to have it, so now I do. Unfortunately, I kept reading and there was another group almost as vocal that claimed this thing called the VTR was the best thing ever. I had to have it, so now I do. Ditto for RBA's, RDA's and mechanical mods. Now I'm reading about yet another device called the Reo................

I enjoy both the grand and the vv grand. I carried 1 of each to work today. I tend to build the same 1.1 ohm coil for most of the REO's in the stable. But I have an ADV that likes to be on the warm side. It is a great match for the vv. I just dial it up and dinner is served.

One of each should do you just fine!!!!!

I have no doubt that's how it will play out.
Does the vv have a 1ohm lower limit?

Strong rumors have it that there will be a Reo Grand built to take a Kick and run off one 18650. It will also have an insert to replace the Kick if you should want to go full mechanical. OF course the Kick will be easily place in and taken out of the Grand by the user. This would give variable wattage. There is no time table set for this mod though but I think its on the drawing board. I only mention this because this opens up the possibility of buying the GRand first and at a later date going with the Kick Grand when it comes out if you feel like moving in the regulated direction.

Are all of those in your avatar yours?
If so, would you mind naming the models, left to right?

Actually , your idea makes sense for my style. I enjoy building coils. I can't count the number of times I've pulled off a perfectly good coil, just so I could try out some really cool one I saw on YouTube

A good number of us have been there; it is the evolution of vaping. When you find what fits you best (Reo) the others can be sold in the classies or sit on your "trophy" shelf.
If I put everything up on a shelf where my wife could see them all together? Let's just say, that would end very badly for me!!!

A kick works great! But really ... it's not needed. Nice to mess with higher ohm coils though I find my coils typically end up with a sweet spot of .7-1ohm.

Is that copper vein? That's what I ordered. Looks nice! Brass Reomizer? Crap! I ordered the stainless.
