I have two 3.7V mods and one VV mod - the VV mod gets the most of the action because of versatility. The ability to fine tune the voltage to suit different atties and juices is what makes the difference.

Just last week I finally got hold on IKV 3.5 HV atty, got in on 5V Grand and it was good, very good smooth vape. Then I tried it on VV mod and blindly tweaked the volts till I found nirvana like vapor and flavor combo. Checked voltage later and it was 5.3V. These 0.5 volts made a hell lot of difference. I kept swapping this atty between two mods, but Grand lost it every time. It didn't help with batts in Grand dropping voltage, which is another big plus for VV's. You get that fresh_out_of_charger_battery hit all the way.

The IKV i06 3.5ohm - had to drop voltage to 4.9V because the vape got too hot and sort of harsh, good spot for Grand though. And that's where it sits now - very happy with this combo.

BTW that 510 IKV 3.5 ohm atty at 5.3 volts was the best vape I've ever had in my vaping life. Colossal vapor, strong flavor, nice draw - simply fantastic. You may notice past tense though - it lasted only 6 days. Damn. I'll give it a benefit of doubt and I'm going to buy a couple of them hoping that mine was just a random bad guy. It was that good - better than any i06 I've ever used.

And back to OP's post: I'd suggest like others did - try VV, buy BPro or similar mod that can get easily sold in classies later on. You can go 5V, 6V Grand way, but I think once you experience goodness of constant voltage it is hard to look back.

I have the Infinity, which is the same thing as the Buzz but with a different look. I liked the looks better. Anyway, I don't really turn my voltage up beyong 4.5 because it seems to zap the flavor. So my nonVV Reo Grand works just fine at 3.7 volts. I recommend the Infinity as a VV device though. Its solid, pretty, and relieable.

Well Hildi, I will know what VV is soon! Hubby surprised me with an order for a Provari, you can read how it went down in the Provape forum!!

Yeah, saw that yesterday. You are so lucky! I will have to live vicariously through you cause there's no way I'm gonna spend that much to get VV knowing that I will be spend more on the VV Grand. Congrats though, and give your hubby a big thank you kiss.

Even though I'm a dyed-in-the-wool REO guy, I must say that's a damn nice score! Congrats and cook that fella a steak!

I do not see myself lugging a Provari around town with me. But I am not out much so no biggy, but I truly LOVE the form factor of the Grand, it just fits and is not cumbersome for me. I had worried forawhile what mod I was going to mow with, takes me 3 hours on big honkin mower, I think it's going to be the grand, it will fit in my t-shirt pocket and easy to hang on to, and if I do drop it, I honestly don't think it would hurt it in the least.

The good thing is when Rob gets to the VV Grands, I will know how well VV fits for me, and then VV would be portable for me. As it stands now I can not bring myself to take a tanked tube mod out of the house, I am just self consious, but the juice feeders no problem.

Ex provarista chiming in - the mod itself is awesome, well build, variable voltage, tons of features, built in protection against shorts and over temperature, great battery life. Top gear. What let it down for me is the juice delivery system.

Dripping on attys after three good drags was very inconvenient, switched to cartos - again, keeping them moist was a chore (where's my damn bottle, oh shait, left it behind and so on), tried vapemate (funny looking contraption, didn't work very well), all sorts of tanks (all of them leaking, breaking), clearomizers (flavor robbers), genisis attys with ss wicks (teeth grinding effort to make it work consistently) and few other contraptions I don't even care to remember about.

Vaping wasn't fun anymore, so I knew I had to do something drastic before I end up with tobacco stained fingers again.

Bit the bullet, sold provari, e-pipe, eGos, and got myself shiny new REO mini. From then on I'm not looking back. Bottom feed does everything for me, back to fun, back to vaping with atties, slight squonk is all it takes, bottle built in the mod - that's the way. Once I get VV woodvill I shall be happy for quite a while.

I believe the VV mods are the future, it is a good thing that Rob got on the VV bandwagon. Wish me luck on soon to come VV woodwill sales ( I got a bad feeling that I would need a lots of luck with F-keys) :toast:
