My wife and I are ready to try leaving cigarettes behind. We've been looking through this and other forums, looking at reviews, and doing what we can to educate ourselves. We've pretty much decided on eGo-style batteries but my wife has one issue with them. She's pretty severely handicapped and is worried about her ability to use the button on them. Is there an eGo-style (or something that works just as well) that doesn't have a button? If not, does anyone have any ideas that may help her out?

Thanks,

You could try the SI volt X2. It's very similar to the eGo (it has all of the same features aside from the volt's slightly higher... voltage,) it's in the same price range and it does have an automatic version. The only drawback is that it is 808 threaded, so you have fewer options as far as clearomizers and tanks go, though you can find 808 versions of many of the popular ones, such as the vivi nova, CE3, nanos, and the T3. Generally, you'll be putting the same cartos/clearos/tanks on the volt as you would the eGo. It works exactly the same and will provide pretty much the same experience. The only real difference is that you have to get all of your cartos 808 threaded instead of 510/eGo. For a coupla bucks, you can also buy adapters you can screw on so that eGo threaded stuff will fit as well. I wish I could link you to one... ...they are out there. I was just looking at one last night dangit! Can't find it now, sorry. I'll get back to you on that when I find one. But I can link you to the volt, hah.

Depending on what works well for her to grip, there are a few button options. The eGo button is somewhat small and requires being able to hit it precisely. There are bigger buttons that are easy to find an push on things like the Bolt, called horn style buttons. Others have a big bottom button (called telescopes) or one on the side where you can just squeeze it to activate it, like the K100 or KTS.

It would be best if you could try a couple options a try before spending your money. As you are in the Houston area it might be worth the time to go to a local supplier and see what works. Here's one that is web-based but offers local pickup and you can call to see if you can try some out - Elixir Liquid - American Made E-liquid & Electronic Cigarettes. Here's another that sells at a flea market on the weekends - http://texasecigsupply.com/home1
With all of the choices and your specific needs, try before you buy if possible. That's also important with liquids as you can find flavors you like by trying them. Good luck!
