Realistic Tobacco Flavors Similar To Winston Light Cigs?

Hey guys. So, I'm really trying to get my Dad to quit smoking, or at the very least to TRY vaping. The majority of my juices are fruity and bakery types, which he doesn't like the sound of at all. He's tried Cuttwoods Unicorn Milk and ITCVapes Dirty Dutchman. I can't get him to try any of the other flavors I have, which range from banana, melon, lemon, apple, blueberry, and a few more. His whole thing is if vaping is to help quit smoking, why would he want some fruity s***?! He wants something as close to a cigarette as he can get. Although, I did notice, when he was trying the Dirty Dutchman (tobacco, caramel, chocolate, vanilla) he puffed on it for a while before handing it back to me. I also stressed to him the importance of going to a brick and mortar and trying a bunch of different juices to see if he found a flavor that he liked. I truly believe if he found a juice that he liked, he would be more interested in vaping. He was very adament about not going into a store, though. I don't know why. I think it may have to do with him coughing so much when he was trying my juice. He's the type of person that HATES causing a scene. He wouldn't want to be in there trying juice and start coughing up a lung. So, does anyone have any suggestions on a good quality, majority tobacco flavored, e-juice? He currently smokes Winston Light cigarettes.

Also, what would you recommend to start him on? I started, and am currently still using, an Evod2 Kangertech, 1.8 ohm dual coil, 650 mah battery. I like what I'm using, but I am just wondering if y'all could recommend something else, being more experienced, and having tried other things and what not.

P.S.- any idea why my juice in my tank would be leaking down into my battery (the coil was nice and snug) ?! I've noticed sometimes that the juice may build up a LITTLE, when I unscrew my battery. But, I puffed, it gurggled, I checked the coil, I wiped the battery, puffed again and everything was great, took a shower, puffed again, gurgled, unscrewed battery and it was almost overflowing with juice.?? :(

I highly recommend myfreedomsmokes.com -- their Virginia was the closest thing I could find to Virginia Slims; I believe they have a "W" which is meant to simulate the taste of a Winston; definitely DO NOT get the VG blend, because he's going to want the massive throat hit that their PG blend provides -- even at low mg, though he'll probably want high mg to start, which will make the TH even better. [EDIT: just re-read your post -- he's smoking Winston Lights, so he should get at least 12mg; but he might need 18mg -- depends on how many he smoked per day and how long he smoked that many per day -- I smoked ultra-lights, a pack a day, and the most I could handle at first was 6mg; when I quit smoking, I had to go up a little, but still only vape about 10mg.]

But you should warn your dad, all vapor is going to be sweeter than cigarette smoke, because cigarette smoke is bitter, from the burning; without the burning, there's no bitter. Best you can hope for is something *similar* to the taste he's used to. And I can totally relate to his feeling that since it's meant to replace cigarettes, why would he want some fruity crap -- I felt that way for MONTHS. It wasn't till I started getting kinda tired of the Virginia that I actually tried some other flavors, got some pineapple and some blueberry muffin, and found, over a few weeks of keeping them handy, that I began to prefer them -- now I don't like the Virginia at all, but it took a while to reach that point.

I think taste is going to be very subjective. You may want to try a RY4 based juice. They are tobacco-based flavors that may help your dad transition. There is a big forum post on them with some recommendations:

Also, the level of nicotine in the juice will help with his acceptance. I smoked 2 packs of Camel Lights for 15 years and I found that 18 mg nicotine strength was an even transition. Depending on how much your dad smokes, he may want a little less strong nicotine hit.

I strongly doubt an RY4 is going to appeal to a Winston smoker; Winstons are very bitter, MUCH more bitter than the sweet Marlboros -- RY4 is like candy-coated tobacco, very sweet.

Respectfully, I agree with Andria on the RY4's sweetness. That caramel taste during inhale will make him wince and dislike the vaping idea more

I only suggested RY4 juices because it helped me transition and the fruit and desert based flavors turned me off.

Just my :2c:

would perique tobacco work and can that be obtainable in the US??

That wincing is right on the money -- Virginia Slims are bitter-tasting too (I switched to them from Winstons, because they were even more bitter than 'Stones! To Winston and Slims smokers, Marlboros taste like candy!) -- and just about every tobacco vape I tried just tasted sickly sweet, like pipe tobacco -- but when I tried that Virginia from myfreedomsmokes.com, I hollered EUREKA! and knew I had the way to quit.

Hi Avataris. Apologies mate and my reply was not a slight against you. I enjoy RY4 but there is the occasional day when I just 'meh' and regret filling the tank with it.
I do want to try the perique tobacco but haven't found it in Canada.

I'd take a look at Goodejuice, the have some natural tobaccos that are pretty good! Their Patriot juice is a good tobacco vape. They have Wrangler light, Analog tobacco, and a few others that may be interesting. I like Backwoods Brew "Backo" and "Virginia" both are good straight tobaccos, two liquids I always have on hand.

I just gave up a 2 PAD, 40 year habit 8 weeks ago. Like your Dad, I was a Winston Light (100's) addict and despaired of ever finding anything similar. After lots of trial and error, (and discovering the enjoyment of other flavors) today a juice came in the mail from Johnson's Creek; Tennessee Flue Cured Tobacco. Absolute Heaven for my taste buds when I want the taste of a *real* cig. Your Dad will need a fairly high nic level to start, either 18 or 24. I chose 24 and have gradually worked my way down. My set-up is simple but satisfying to me: An adjustable Spinner battery and several Aspire tanks, including the Mini-Nautilus with adjustable air-flow. The adjustable airflow makes a big difference to those with specific draw preferences. Glass clearos also make everything taste so much better IMO. Best of luck to him!
