Smokin!!!!! Yep...that's a burnt Cartomizer alright! Looks just like the ones in my video, so "bingo"! It's my experience that an isolated hot spot is a sure sign of a burnt carto, as uzza pointed out. The atomizers may or may not be perfectly centered but generally perform well even if they are not centered. You can now see first hand that once the wicking tube is compromised it simply burns a hole through the wicking material and right through the polyfill.
Now if would have tried to refill the Cartomizer, juice would have simply flowed right throw the hole in Polyfill/Wicking Material/Wicking tube and instantly flooded your Air tube. I can guarantee that any Carto that has an isolated hot spot will be burnt and look just like that.
To prevent this you can....always try a combination of dripping (adding a few drops every hour or so) or slowing down the speed and length of your draw as well spacing out the time between draws to 10-15 seconds. It's hard, vaping isn't like smoking, it's a completely different technique and takes a little time to master. When you hammer a carto for a hard draw, even if it's a little dry, it will burn up the carto, especially a Wow Carto which burns hotter due to the low resistance atomizer.
The techniques of drawing between vaping and smoking are polar opposites. Long, slow, relaxed and measured draws is the technique one must employ for vaping. I don't know what nic level you are at, but if you find that you need to hammer your cartos hard to get your nic fix, you may want to think about stepping up your mg level.
Finding the right mg level is one the hardest things for any vapor to do. If it's too strong you'll get dizzy, you sinuses will start buzzing instantly, if it's too low you'll find that you have to hammer a carto to get any fix at all. Keep trying buddy....you'll find your sweet spot!
