Anyone else experience this:

I have been vaping for a week or so and have been trying out a variety of V4L cartomizers. I vape, just like I smoke, I take about 12-15 drags and "put it out."

Well this has worked well, except for the WOW VG Vanilla cartos I just received. The problem is that they get super hot in one spot. I let them cool for about 4-5 seconds between drags, but they just seem to get hotter.

Try taking off the white rubber tip on the mouth part. Is the hole in the middle centered? If not, take a straightened small paper clip and try to pull it to the center. Then try again. Good luck!

From one new guy to another... :)

I started with the Wow pre-fills and the vapor and overall satisfaction saved my vaping efforts. I dealt with the "hot spot" issue as well but the gang here came to my rescue!

First, drip tips whether you plan on dripping or not saved my lips, literally!

Second, I found the Cool Carts were exactly that, cooler AND they seem to last longer. While I have dexterity issues due to a spinal injury, I am finding to use my good days to use the Wow juice in blank Cool Carts. So far, so great.

We all have our own little preferences but for me, the above is making for a solid situation. Good luck to you and keep on Vaping!

Another thing you could do is keep 2 batts loaded with your favorite carto and switch between them ...giving them longer to cool.

This is exactly what I do... otherwise I heat up even the cool carts too much depending on how much suck I'm doing... wow, that didn't sound good... lol

Waiting for a drip tip as I type...

A noticeable hot-spot (as opposed to hot all over from over-vaping) = a dead carto for me. Means its gonna burn, if it isn't already, just toss it.

The thing that got me really sticking with V4L was finally becoming willing to toss out an under-performer early. It seems like a waste of money at first, but still, for me, nothing gives the combo of taste and vapor of a really good performing cartomizer. I figured why save one buck if I'm not getting the most out of my vape?

These days I plan on throwing out two out of five cartos within a day or two of filling them up. The ones that work really good seem to last me a good 15 or 20ml. And at only a buck a pop, that's still a good deal imo for my preferred vaping experience. Other atties may or may not last longer, they leak, flavor isn't as good, and a quality one will cost you $10. I still use other atties for a variety of reasons (like flavor sampling, a really heavy vaping session, or flavors that are too strong in a KR), but V4L's premiums are my go to vape.

I hate that as well. This happens when the heating element gets to close to the side, wall of cartomizer. If you cannot fix the issue, just request replacements in comments section with next order. I am here in China for a month working on all issues, Gonna make eveything better for all of us.

First let me say, thank you for all the continued responses; it is much appreciated. Second, V4L service has been outstanding thus far and this is nothing against the company.

yeah, it is really strange. It is just this box of VG WOW Vanilla. everything else is in tip-top shape. I did open up 3 of them and saw the "wire" was nearly touching the side of the canister. I used the paper clip to repair them, but I fear they may already have met their doom. The two worst offenders, I pulled everything out and unraveled it.

Maybe I am wrong, but it looks like it is burned. That would explain why my lungs were hurting afterwards -- I thought maybe it was just due to VG. I could understand if this was the fourth refill, but they were new. I ha literally two "cigarettes" worth of vaping off of them. eh, "C'est la vie! Anytime you have mass production, there is going to be some bad yield.

Seriously not a big deal, and I appreciate the fact that two reps from V4L responded to this, including the Big Man himself. This speaks volumes about the way this company is run.

Here is a pic I snapped. Am I wrong, is it not burned?

Smokin!!!!! Yep...that's a burnt Cartomizer alright! Looks just like the ones in my video, so "bingo"! It's my experience that an isolated hot spot is a sure sign of a burnt carto, as uzza pointed out. The atomizers may or may not be perfectly centered but generally perform well even if they are not centered. You can now see first hand that once the wicking tube is compromised it simply burns a hole through the wicking material and right through the polyfill.

Now if would have tried to refill the Cartomizer, juice would have simply flowed right throw the hole in Polyfill/Wicking Material/Wicking tube and instantly flooded your Air tube. I can guarantee that any Carto that has an isolated hot spot will be burnt and look just like that.

To prevent this you can....always try a combination of dripping (adding a few drops every hour or so) or slowing down the speed and length of your draw as well spacing out the time between draws to 10-15 seconds. It's hard, vaping isn't like smoking, it's a completely different technique and takes a little time to master. When you hammer a carto for a hard draw, even if it's a little dry, it will burn up the carto, especially a Wow Carto which burns hotter due to the low resistance atomizer.

The techniques of drawing between vaping and smoking are polar opposites. Long, slow, relaxed and measured draws is the technique one must employ for vaping. I don't know what nic level you are at, but if you find that you need to hammer your cartos hard to get your nic fix, you may want to think about stepping up your mg level.

Finding the right mg level is one the hardest things for any vapor to do. If it's too strong you'll get dizzy, you sinuses will start buzzing instantly, if it's too low you'll find that you have to hammer a carto to get any fix at all. Keep trying buddy....you'll find your sweet spot!

but V4L's premiums are my go to vape.

I can't wait to get my turtle premium carts and juice. My carts get hot also so I bought drip tips and dry to put 3 or 4 drops in after a heavy vaping session. I have also centered the post when needed. As Wader says, keeping 2 carts going is also helpful. Don't you just love the vapor4life family??? I have converted 2 friends!!

All very good advice. I received my new order and picked up two more batteries. Thus, before I try upping my nic level (currently at 18) I will try switching out every other drag with a diff battery. At least now I know what to "look for" in determining a bad batt.

I think I will also drop a couple drops in after every "smoke" and see if it subsides.

Also, clearly I need to adjust my vaping from the way I smoked.

Once again, thanks everyone!

I personally don't use the drip tips...as far as dripping goes, I just vape with the tops off. When I drip, I drip on one side and when I start to see the other side moisten up I know its full...maybe about one drop too full, in which case a little dab with a corner of tp takes care of that. My cartos are never more than 5 or 10 drops away from fulll...

Maybe not for everyone, but its served me for two years and keeps my cartos wet. Just a thought.
