I'm interested in getting some drip tips. I have only tried a clear plastic one and a soft rubber one that both came with a tank I got from V4L.

Some dumb questions- when they say "acrylic", are these soft, or at least not rigid? Are the Delrin ones soft? I didn't like the clear plastic because it was too hard, but the rubber one was too soft, so I guess I'm looking for something in between. I was thinking med grade silicone would be fantastic to make drip tips from, but so far I haven't seen any. I already know I wouldn't want glass or aluminum. Any really different ones out there? I saw some ceramic ones but those would be hard too.

Acrylic is rigid. I doubt that they make any out of Silicone as it would not be rigid enough. I have never seen one. I prefer the plastic but if you drip some of the more caustic liquid you should go with aluminum or glass as I have had some plastics melt with some juice. A compromise would be to buy Aluminum and put 1-2 layers of heat shrink on it to make it softer. I worry about chipping a tooth with metal. There are also glass ones but with them there is the worry about breakage! Have yet to try a ceramic as they are usually more expensive and I have heard of issues with fit as when you kiln ceramics it will change size some. If I had to pick one I'd pick acrylic. I've dropped my APV a few time and it broke off the drip tip. With an aluminum tip it may have broken off the threads on the atty or the Battery had I been using aluminum.

Somewhere out there
ECblends has something called a Friend Tip. it's silicone and slides over a cartomizer. It has a stiff end piece that extends about 3/4 inch from the end of the cartomizer. It might fit on some drip tips, some loosely, some a bit tight. It's sold as a sanitary cover for sharing. I use one all the time on cartos and find it very comfortable. It's not stiff enough to bite on and hold a PV in your mouth like a cig though, if that's what you're looking for.

If you already have a clear plastic one, chances are it is acrylic. I find (in my opinion) they have a weird taste. I just don't like the plastic-y taste and feel.

I have one of the cherry vape aluminum tips and I really like it. I think I'll pick up a ceramic one or delrin and give those a try.

The local shop has little caps that resemble the carto "condoms" with holes in them. They use them over tips so you can sample flavors. That may be an idea for you. Not sure if they sell those anywhere, but maybe make your own by slicing the tops off the carto condoms and sliding them over your drip tip.
