Like many I've yet to find the perfect topper.

Ones of good behavior at the moment include ( all working great today- no favorite): Boge F16 V2 Carto tank and Boge flange carto - Mini pro tank 2 ( newish version with removable tip) and drippers: IGO-L, kayfun lite clone, smoktech mini(micro) dripper.

Yet to be successful with any iclears (haven't given up) and EVODs rebuilds OK for out and about.

IGO-W3 disaster: to many holes - leaker - even holes in deck - may work for many, not me. Sad part have two by mistake - plan to try and sell them at half price whenever I get around to it - I used/rebuilt once other new in box - both clones.

I'm with the OP. For now, I'm giving up on the Protank II. Via vapemail I received the Aspire Nautilus and the Protank earlier today. The Aspire has worked perfectly since I first put it on the Provari. The Protank has been a problem since I first put it on. Error messages, leaks, no airflow, etc., all day long.

Maybe at some point I'll get bored enough to try again, but I can't justify wrestling with this thing while I have a perfectly working Aspire Nautilus with a tank of Key Lime juice just waiting for me.

This solves all problems with ProTanks. Kanger Airflow Control Valve

In the meantime, just fold a small piece of paper a couple of times into a strip and place it between the tank and the unit when you screw down the topper. It works.

Thanks, EvilZoe. I'll give it a try.

Ok!

I received my Aerobase (Aerotank replacement base) from KangerTechUS.com yesterday.

Replaced the PT2 base, used the same coil that was in the PT2, vaped a tank to 1/4 left remaining without a gurgle, flood or dry hit.

First trouble free tank out of that one, ever.

I have two other PT2 tanks that perform relatively trouble free but have always had too tight of a draw for my tastes.

So ehat I have figured out here is that this "troubled" PT2 had a base that had some kind of flaw that allowed it to flood.

The Aerobase fixed that and the crappy draw.

Yay.

Now, I am still slightly miffed that I need to buy a $5 Aerobase to make a $15 tank work like it should.

To get an acceptable draw on my other 2 PT2 tanks, I still have to leave them wobbly loose on my SID and eVic. They do work "ok" on an ego (still not great but better than on my larger mods (These other two never had as bad of a gurgle/flooding issue but would do so after getting below half a tank.

To sum it up, the PT2 is a less than good tank without the Aerobase. Good with the Aerobase. But, now I have $20 in a PT2 when I could have just bought a $19 Aerotank.

I do like the fact that I have a supply of single coil evod/pt coils on hand and dont need to fuss with the new dual coil replacements as I am getting pretty good at rewicking and winding new coils for the single coil kangers. I havent tried an Aerotank however. Perhaps the dual coil is worth the higher replacement cost?

Dunno. My next tank is going to be a kayfun clone. I now feel that if im going to tinker, I might as well do so with a tank that does not utilize the crappy, disposable kanger design and I can wind a coil to my liking as I have learned some pretty good coil building skills anyway fussing with this poorly designed junk.

I guess I just bought some experience and education about what I want out of my gear by tinkering with these protanks.

I still have found the PT2 minis to be great, portable tanks on my egos when I want small and portable gear.

I had a little better luck today. Took the entire thing apart, cleaned it up, and put it back together -- this time filling the tank about 85%. I read something earlier today that suggests it performs better with more juice. Yesterday I was filling it to approximately 50% hoping not to waste a tank of juice. Not as great a vape as the Aspire Nautilus, but tons better than yesterday, and so far, no leaks. Still waiting for the Aerobase to arrive which I hope will make it great, but for now it's okay.

I just got the Aerotank base and it does help out quite a bit. Still haven't pulled the trigger on a Kayfun but I think it's in my near future.

I just set my brother and sister in law up with a starter kit... now making a fastech order to hook them up. My new KFL+ is going to be included on this next ft order.

Although the pt2's are working acceptably with the aerobases, I still feel the need to try something new. Maybe better...
