Part 1
So somebody asked me how i managed to rebuild the Octopus rda using cotton gauze and i decided might as well share with everybody. It works well for me, it's the best vape I've gotten thus far.:vapor:

First off i use the Curad cotton bandage roll, available from walmart for about 5$ i think. The wire i use is kanthal 32 A1.

I start by taking my wire and burning it red with a lighter. This is supposed to remove and machinery oil and stuff you don't want to vape. I find that it makes the vape more consistent and improves it quite a bit.

When i begin to wrap my coil, i wrap it around a tiny screwdriver i got with one of my DID clones but anything about that size will do fine. The cotton expands and i don't want to constrict it in any way from wicking. I wrap a 5/5 coil with both ends coming out the same side. when i have the right amount of coils i push the against the screw driver while holding on to the ends so that they are nice and tight. This makes the ohms about 2 + - .1

I cut out large squares of cotton so i don't have to keep boiling more and more cotton when i need to build new wicks. I boil it about three times to make sure its nice and clean. After each boil, i run water into the pan letting it pour out over the edge. This way whatever im cleaning off of it doesnt just soak back into the cotton.

I keep the gauze folded the way it is because when you unfold it, string starts getting everywhere and its just a mess plus its stronger folded. I cut it into thin strips and since they do take up a lot of space im only using 3. Cut them longer than you need so theres room to cut the ends.

I Then proceed to roll it thin.

After making sure they're nice and thin i line them up and roll one end together nice and tight. I make them longer than i want by the way so i can cut off the ends to clean up a bit.

Now i wrap some cheapo, thin nichrome wire around the ends that i rolled together so that i can use that to pull the wick through the coil. I find this works better for me than just wrapping the coil around the wick. (much, MUCH, easier too!:p)

Once the wick is in there good, I remove the cheapo wire and toss it. Now i run the ends of the wire through those tiny holes on the posts aligning it so that the coil is above the air hole at an angle. You want to make sure you dont cover the air hole at all, especially since theres only one small hole. Just wrap the wire aound the posts after inserting them through the holes and screw them in tight.

Heres a pic of how the wire is supposed to wrap around the post. This is the part where i slap this bad boy onto my evic or vamo or whatever device that can check ohms. I also check to make sure no coils are touching each other or the posts using a needle to nudge them around.

just my personal preference i like my coil at 2ohms.

After everything checks out with the vamo, i then proceed to trim the ends. I cut the short end pretty close to the coil with just a little length so it doesnt slide out the coil. I trim down the other side just so it will fit in the Octopus. I also make it short enough to allow air flow through the drip tip. If theres too much wick it will block the top of the RDA.:(

Now its time to drip some juice on the coil and test fire and wah lah!

Enjoy your clouds!
