The only mods I can think of that use 18350s are Provari minis and mechs.

Very popular right now so hard to find in stock are the eleaf iSticks. Under $40 and go to 20w.

The mvp is limited to 11w but with a big tank like a Taifun, doesn't look as silly I guess as the istick. The iStick though works better with single coil rebuildables IMO. I do have my Taifun on the mvp atm because the mod it normally lives on died today.

Thanks!

Yes, that's exactly right. If I wanted to make sure I was covered if I couldn't get anything else in the future, I'd get the highest continuous discharge batteries available. That way, I'd be covered if my tastes changed. I think one of the common ways that people's tastes change is to go from low vapor output with high nic juice to high vapor output with low nic juice. It produces more flavor and a more satisfying vaping experience for a lot of people. So, that's something I'd want to be prepared for.

Thank you again!

Hey everyone! I am looking to upgrade from my clearomizers and eGo batteries and am a little overwhelmed at all the information on ECF. I am looking to get several different styles of R(B/D/T)As, a mechanical mod, a VV/VW mod, and any tools and supplies I would need to get started. I would love if the mods took 18350 batteries as we have quite a few around, and they would be smaller. I am looking to order from FastTech, as they are inexpensive to start.

Any advice?

IMO I started with the Vamo V5 and the Kangertech Protank 3 and it was awful. Both of them at a month since purchase broke down. (Vamo broke the screen and one of the buttons got real sensitive) and the KAngertech solidified where you fill it up.

Then I went for the full mech mod and bought a Stingray-X mod with a Stillare RBA Atty and the Taifun GT. Couldnt be happier. Big clouds with tons of flavor. I am NOT going back VV. Also I am using Efest IMR 18650 3.7V 2000mah which work perfect with the Nitecore i4 Charger.

I got everything cloned for about $60-$70 bucks. What a bargain!

What do people think of this little guy for a cheap RDA?
RDA Mini Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer (1.0mL)

I watched some rebuilding videos on it and it seems like it wouldn't be too bad, other than the size issue. Opinions?

Also, got a second hand, barely used SS Vamo V2 from a friend for $15 buck to try out. So far, I like it ok.

With an RDA and a mech i would go sub ohm (doesn't have to be 0.15 maybe 0.5 to start with).
If you do plan to sub ohm, doing it with a 18350 is unadvisable.
Getting good 18650 batteries like VTC4 is the way to go.
If you want the option to use both, you can get a telescopic mech or a mech with interchangeable parts like Nemesis.

Do some reading on the forums and buy an ohm meter.

You don't have to subohm with a mech, but it is why people started using them. A 1.1 ohm coil in a magma works nice. A 1.3ohm in a tank is working nice for me. I like the mech because there isn't anything that can break really.

You don't have to sub ohm with an RDA ofc, but it's nice to have the right gear if and when you choose to.

Yep. I've done both with them :)

I definitely don't plan on sub ohming right away, if at all. More looking for the longevity and flavor that I can't get with my clearos and eGos. I got a V2 Vamo from a friend who bought it and never really used it, and just ordered an iStick, so I think I'm going to stick with regulated VW mods for now. Safer and easier for learning. Plus built-in ohm readers.

Since you're planning to buy from Fasttech, this Magma RDA is quite good for it's price:

Thanks! I'll have a look when I get home.

Any other suggestions for entry level rebuildables or mods? Or other threads that have good suggestions?

I'm just starting out like you and I went with a stingray X mech mod, a Stillare Storm RDA, Taifun GT RTA and a Patriot RDA. I currently have a MVP also which I started out with because of the battery size.

I like to move fast, learn fast so I am going from the mvp2 1.8 coil to a dual 0.5 coil for my first build. I want to see what everybody is talking about when they talk about chucking clouds, massive amounts of flavour and the warm vape. I've never been over 11 watts so it's going to be fun to see what it's like at 35 watts right off the bat.

I just went to fasttech's website and looked to see what I liked and went from there, I ordered a few different items just to see what they are like. Goodluck in your search!

I'll be taking things slow, don't want to do anything unsafe. But I do love the looks of the Stillare. Thanks for the input!
