Can someone explain what a rebuildable atomizer is to me? Also the pros and (if applicable) cons of using one?

a rba is a atty you can re-wind a new coil when one wears out.
there are various types out there cheap and spendy.
pros...cheaper to rebuild you can vari ohms with different wraps
cons.... not sure depending on the unit it may require constant attention to keep it functioning well..

I recommend that prior to purchasing your first rba that you have a dependable backup delivery system already in place.
You should also have a good knowledge of the relationship of resistance and voltage, battery safety, which type of batteries to use, know how to use a multimeter, and be willing to do hours of research on how to properly set an RBA up. These devices do not work right out of the box, and the user must be willing to "tinker" for them to work well.

Baditude hit the nail on the head. RBA's can be a real pain in the you know what, but can produce amazing vapor.
I found that watching pbusardo and Todd on youtube has been the best thing for learning how to rebuild and setup tanks. Also testing and failing while the bank balance slowly drops accelerates the curve.
This thread made me look over at an old box mod that I put the carto tank, that was on my Provari, on about 4 months ago to make way for a RDA. Damn! That's the same juice I put in that tank 4 months ago!!! 
Now I won't even discuss (in public) my first attempt at wrapping a coil. There were way to many "superlatives" used that morning. It was very much the same as early attempts at tying flies.
Once I figured out the gauge wire I liked, the number of wraps I liked, the wick material I liked, how tight/loose the wraps I liked, ................ OH-Geez, that damn learning curve again! Nothing else even comes close to a good RDA.

The best video I saw when starting out with an RBA was the demo that Zen did for Provape and his z atty pro. It is simply explained and wonderfully shot with closeup shots to clearly see what he is doing. Watching it is applicable to any Genesis-style RBA.
Some like the Octopus and Optimus do work right out of the box and you can also by replacement coils already configured. As a starting point, this type of setup can give you a better idea of what your own coil wraps should look like.
As others have said, the RDA can provide superior flavor and the ultimate tailoring of your vape to exactly what you like. The downside is that, similar to mixing your own juice, the trial and error can be frustrating. Like DIY e-liquid, there is enormous satisfaction when you get it right, though.
