So, I recently started looking up the Rebuildable Atomizers, and I find myself with a few questions. The premise is solid, I think that it would be something else to add to my vaping chores, while I'm mixing up some liquids.

How often do they need to be rebuilt?
Has anyone tried the Defcon, and how does it compare to the Genesis and the Odysseus?
Would it be worth while to use it on a Kicked SB?
Is there any reason to steer clear of them? Does it feel more like a chore than a rewarding experience?

Anything else you might like to share about them would be helpful.
Thanks!

No experience on the Defcon but I run both Genesis and Ody's.

For me, Ody's win on flavor and throat hit. I am strictly a HV vaper and can make 3 and 4 Ohm coils on the Ody. In my experience, Genesis do better on LV. Maybe someone with more experience on Genesis can chime on on that.

Genesis is easier to build a coil on since it's just wire wrapping but to my palate, the flavor of the Ody is superior. Genesis people will disagree. I said to my palate and taste is subjective. Not looking to debate here just stating preference.

Biggest plus to any rebuildable is flavor, superior throat hit and zero dependence on Chinese attys and cartos. In theory, once you own the hardware, your only expense is wick and wire. In my experience, that's not so since I've become addicted not to trying more and more rebuildables!

Hope this helps

Thank you for the reply. How often do you have to re-wrap and re-wick the ones you own? Does the flavor start to get sludgey like normal atty/cartos after a fashion?

How much liquid do they hold in the tank below?

Thanks again!

I use a Mark-T Infinity atomizer. I am personally not a huge fan of the tank style rebuildables because of their size, and they all seem to have weird quirks to get used to. I find that the coil very rarely needs rebuilding. Once every few days I find that a rinse with plain water and a dry burn cleans the wick and coil right up.

I use an Ody (just have drip mode ATM), the Did and a bully. The Ody is a cinch to rebuild - never have any issues with shorts and I agree with Torq - flavor really comes through perfectly. I think that the DM lasts longer than when using in a tank but I get about a week between rebuilds. I do alternate though so this may not be a fair assessment. Re: genesis type repairables, some I've tried are easier to use than others. With my current set up, the wick lasts a very long time, flavor is excellent and costs for rebuilding are pennies on the dollar as compared to buying attys. I love being free of the dependence on purchasing online and don't have a fear of running out of attys. Ordered Penelope and can't wait to get her.

I got two Defcon Atoms on order now, so I will let you know when I get them!

Thanks for the replies, folks.

I don't like dripping, I'd rather have something that I could fill up and then forget about it for a while. Currently, I'm using DCTs on my SB, and would like to replace them with a rebuildable tank. I think that it would feel much nicer to order a bundle of wire and some mesh and be good for several months, than ordering 100 worth of cartos every couple months.

Also, this is going to be for my at home/in the car mod. I don't take my SB to work with me, it's too big, and the temperature in the car is bad for it if it's alone for more than half an hour or so, so the size isn't that much of an issue. Hopefully it won't look like I'm vaping on a police baton though.

I assume this was directed at my post. I kinda side tracked about me preferring dripping. My post was mostly referencing the coil/wick, as I assume that part would be similar, even in a tank style.

Well, more or less. I was sort of referrencing everyone with my reply. :)

Most of my dislike for dripping is that I have a 6 month old wandering around the apartment. Getting liquid on my fingers is inevitable when I drip, and I refuse to touch him like that...just like when I'm eating flaming hot cheetos. It's just a bad idea for me, that's all. I've done it, I'm not very good at it though. :)
