Hi,

Have a question about rebuildable genesis type atties on the grand? Can it be done? I am very interested in the Genesis (line), but they all have tanks...and of course I dont need that on the grand, but I would like to benefit from the stainless steel wick-rebuildable set up, so I can have a new experience, perhaps better flavor...and not to have to keep buying atties and cartos. Also if anybody has used these...will they short the reo. Thanks.

I can answer some of your questions. I had a G-tank (genisis with SS wick). I bought it for my Provari and eGo. The design can be changed to bottom feed type and there are few prototypes around. If it works and set-up properly these atties have tons of flavor and produce some serious vapor amount. But, there's a catch.

One has to DIY own wick, oxidize it and wind kanthal/nicrome wire. If design is compact like a G-tank is, there is not much room for error and can easily get coil and wick positive shorted to the body. By the time I got it figured out I had several shorts on Provari (E1 error), current overload. Luckily, Provari is an intelligent mod and will shut itself down without damage.
Then I tried the tank on eGo - all good until the eGo got toppled over from its horizontal standing position. Picked it up, fired and immediately fried brand new 1000mah battery.

If I was to use these kinds of DYI atties on REO I would make sure I have two dozen spare springs laying around. Just my 2cents on the topic.

Back to zombies.:p

Guys the SS wicks work very good if you do them correctly, no shorts, no issues what so ever and are very strong in a G-Tank set up as well. Flavor and vapor in the 2 G-Tanks I run is great the more the wick gets oxidized the better both wicks have been in my G-Tanks for over 3 months now and though I dont just use my G-Tanks all day I do use them often and like I said they just keep getting better. I'm sure sooner or later I will have to replace them but it takes me like 10min to roll oxidize and install a new one and that includes wrapping the wire. I also use a small piece of the XC-116 Ceramic wick material. I roll my mesh, oxidize it, then slide it through the center of the XC-116, do my wire wrap, then trim off the excess XC-116 thus giving me a superior vape.

I also use them on my VV Ego's doing a 1.5-1.7ohm wrap, and they work super on these as well.

You can also mod the vision ( CE2 type carto's ) with mesh as well
