I know the Vivi Novas, tried them as soon as they hit the market, tried them a few times since as they were "improved". Dry hits drove me nuts, tried most of the suggested changes...still was never very happy. Same for the Stardust and minis tho the minis actually seemed to give me fewer dry hits. The Vivi Novas in all their incarnations weren't really meant to be rebuildable either. I know it can be done...I did a couple but never was satisfied with the performance.

I have a couple rebuildable dripping atty's and I do like the control making your own coils gives you. I have a RA Tank and while it is easier to rebuild than the Vivi Novas I still never got the performance I was looking for. I do plan on giving it a try with mesh sometime soon but the draw is very airy to me even with the air hole mostly sealed.

My latest foray into a rebuildable tank seems to be the best to date, the Drunker tank. This uses a cup to hold the coil and is designed to be used with a double wick so you have 4 strands of silica wicking the juice to the coil. Performance with the supplied wick has been excellent through the first tank and a half. Draw is a bit airy but not bad. Unlike the Vivi the Drunker tank was made to be rebuilt, the coil area is tight but no worse than my Phoenix RBA.

Are there any other relatively inexpensive (the Drunker tank is $15) rebuildable tanks out there? I know about the smoktek...reviews on them have not been stellar. I want a tank set up for when I am out and about when dripping is tough, such as when I am driving. Normally I use a carto tank but I am hoping for flavor closer to dripping than a carto gives.

The Drunker tank...

I just got the Vision Eternity in yesterday. So far, a great item. As far as tanks, I have found that the Smoktek DCT lockable tanks, that use XL Cartos, are great. They hold plenty of fluid and are in the same price range ($13). I am experimenting with punching and drilling my own holes now to make them smaller for less flooding.

i know what you mean abotu the airy draw. wha ti do is take a much slower draw. it takes some getting used to but once you do, the hit is much better IMO. as Zen says: if you hear air coming in the hole, youre drawing too quickly.

i like the DuD/Griffin/Vulcan/COV Gen1 - all the same

the COV Gen1 is currently the least expensive that i know of. you can get it here
COV Gen 1
next in line would be here (free shipping)
The Vulcan - Rebuildable Atomizer Tank (Satin)
then here
The Griffin - Rebuildable Atomizer Tank

and if you want a pyrex tank for it (thats what i got and its awesome) you can get that here
https://www.ibtanked.com/other-tank-tubes/did-clear-90-detail

the other rba i have is this one. i like it and it looks sick on my provari.
Cobra - Rebuildable Atomizer - Metal Tank with Clear Windows!

ive got the A7 on the way. got it for $14.99 from High Desert Vapes
Phoenix/A7 Rebuildable Atomizer

I'm using the Smok redux which has a very similar coil/wick design. My first few attempts at rebuilding worked fairly well, but then I switched to cotton. I finally have it dialed in, using cheese cloth or cotton from makeup rounds I picked up at Dollar Tree. Also, the way I'm doing it now, I can tease the wick out and thread another in without replacing the coil.

I also have two Gen 1s from COV. I just got the second one today, and I have it set up similar to what's shown in this picture. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nt-cottons-different-wicks-7.html#post8220059

I didn't do any drilling, and I'm not using the juice well, just dripping to keep it wet. 2.9 ohms @ 3.9 volts gives me ~ 5.2 watts, and it's performing great. Very good vapor production, tastes good, th is there but smooth, which is what I like.

Future things I'm looking at are the Vision Eternity and the A7. If fact I would probably already have the Vision if it had screws for its coil mounting system. I use 32 ga and don't want to buy anything else.

One thing I do dislike are copies of things other folks put their time in to design...I really try to avoid copies when possible.

The Killer is very interesting but the damn exchange rate really sucks right now...would be $80 plus shipping from the UK.

I have thought someone should design an atty with a sliding outer cover for tanks. Just pull up on the drip tip to uncover a couple small hole to let in juice then slide the cover back down and vape. Shouldn't be that difficult.

Went " all in" with the ViVi Nova and got it dialed in nice, cotton wick, 32ga wire, love it. Have a Aga-t I piddle with- with no success, also bought the Drunker, havent tried it yet, and

have a DID on the way from China, But I dont think any of these will be able to be hit back to back , tipped on its side, re-filled or re-wrapped/re-coiled as quickly as these ViVi Novas

have proven to be. And they look good doing it. I know I sound like a fan boy typing this ,thats to bad. I was useing CE2's before these(anouther great item), now these got popular with

new people the hype was a bit much , I ,being a Fan was sick of hearing it... any way Im in no hurry to get that Aga-t up and running ..I found what works Pro-Vari ViVi Nova
Vamo does ok also

well there is always that Odysseus clone the terminator. but once you start adding many parts, or movable parts and want them to be quality your going to spend the cash for the time it takes to make it right. we can buy working mass produced cheap stuff all day, but is it made with quality in mind or buy one, it breaks, get another.

I would say if you never tried a genesis get a cheapy, but they are not pocket friendly, i take mine everywhere but cant lay it down.
the only other choice for hands down kicking dripper flavor that will rock your world and is pocket friendly is the spheroid, but again it isnt cheap.
sooner or later you end up with a box full of this cheap crap, 15 here 20 there, extra wires, this and that and think " i spent more then i would have on one nice device"

I gave up o that. i buy a cheap version of something only to try that style then just invest in the real thing and done.

(got a box full of stuff if ya want it lol)

AGA-T, T+ or T2 are all good contenders.

They are a touch more expensive (around $25) but they are a solid RBA Tank. er, I can speak for the -T, have a T2 on the way.

Forgot they don't come with a drip tip...luckily I had one laying around. Ordered the T2 with its own this time haha.

I'd like to try to that tank you got there. I've gotten pretty good at rebuilding the vivi novas and phoenix.

Why the hell do they call it a drunker? So easy to rebuild a drunk could do it?

Lol. If it's a translated name then it's definitely loosing something in the translation lol.

Hey Eric, tell us about your phoenix. I seen where you had one coming in.

The phoenix v3 is pretty nice. The metal has a cheap look to it though. I like that it is three pieces. It's a good vape bro. I'm liking the A7 alot even though I'm not using a bottom feeder. Having the hole through the connection is great because you don't have to worry about aligning the air hole with the coil. Just have to be careful not getting juice down the tube. Oh and it's build quality is a lot better than the phoenix.

Glad you're liking it. It's on my radar because of the center hole and everybody seems to like the vape.

I couldn't agree with this more. I was in no hurry to try RBA's and my first attempt was with a ChiD. I wasn't impressed but perhaps it was my inexperience that was my biggest hindrance. It actually put me off RBAs entirely for the better part of a month. With the price of the AGA-T and larger size to work with I recently decided to give it another go. Wrapped my first SS mesh coil (the CHiD came set up already, not so with the AGA-T) and was immediately impressed with flavor and amount of vaper (and the fact that I made a working coil). Wrapped my second coil just a few minutes ago and am enjoying it so much I've just placed an order for for an AGA-T+. The only thing that needs fixing, IMHO, is that the draw is a bit too tight for me.

Not a tank but I ordered a MOV Corsair. It is a Phoenix type atty with adjustable air draw. Also going to try MOV Cannon which is a repairable like the Vivi but made with an eGo style connector.

The Drunker tank continues to do very well, it is at 1/4 tank and still no dry hits. I tend to vape with the PV held not quite horizontal but am not having to fiddle with it making sure to tip it like I do a Vivi.

I am very interested in the drunker RBA. I love my vivi novas rewicked with cotton. The drunker caught my eye because it looks like a vn but meant to be rebuildable. I haven't seen any actual reviews yet. I'm on the "notify me" list at madvapes. I'm not one to jump on new stuff (I learned my lesson with the V1 lava tube) Very rarely does anything catch my eye and get me interested anymore. I am pretty satisfied with what I've got and am using. (Provari's, boges in tanks and vn's) but when I get that email notice... I'm going to order it.
