hey guys. i'd love to get a rebuildable dripper, but all i have is an mvp2, and im not sure if i wanna invest in a mech and batteries and charger and all that yet. (i mean of course i WANT it, but i dont wanna spend money on it lol)
anyway, would it even be worth it to get a rebuildable dripper to use only on an mvp2? im almost positive the mvp2 cant sub ohm, but drippers are supposed to have a great vape. im happy with teh vape i get on my t3s. im gonna assume the vape on a dripper would be relatively the same, but with the advantages of a dripper.

BASICALLY: is it worth it for me to get a dripper if i cant sub ohm?

You don't Have to sub ohm on a dripper; in fact since you have an MVP, there's no real need to sub ohm because the MVP with up the voltage for you.

Get the rebuildable dripper; a dripper by definition is a simple devise - no tank to worry about! and you won't need to buy atomizers for it all you need is your wire and wick; not a great expense. Build simple safe 2 ohm coils to start with; maybe later on you might want to sub ohm, but you don't have to start with sub ohm

Dripping has nothing to do with battery or mod types.
Dripping has nothing to do with sub ohms.
You can happily drip away on your MVP2.

It is all about coil builds. Depending on how you build you coils, you can either happily drip all day or nothing will work. Learn about ohms law and how to safely build coils. Once you done that, as long as you stay above the cut off point (ex. 1.2ohms? i think), you can drip on your MVP2.

i know you dont HAVE to sub ohm on a dripper, but almost all i see when someone posts about their dripper on my town's FB vape page is sub ohms. and i have a general idea about how resistance works and all that stuff. i remember some from high school physics and i do some reading on here about it too. its not too complicated.

that's understandable. dripping has been around, for like forever. sub-ohm is relatively recent.

if this were a car forum, you'd see far more posts about the latest screamers than the old, reliable buick...

ya gotta learn how to wrap good coils first. might as well learn on what you have, rather than shelling out bucks for a mech. plus, that will give you more time to learn about the important stuff like battery safety.

i think i decided on the igo-w, since ill be able to dual coil once i get the hang of single coil. does the atty come with like an instruction booklet (not that coil building is that hard, i just havent done it yet. and i know theres countless youtube videos on it). what gauge wire should i get? a little heavier wire since i wont be sub ohming correct?

First, get a resistance tester. Then Get IGO-W, 30gauge kanthal, and organic cotton. That will get you started.

Start simple. Single coil. 1/16" or 5/64" drill bit. 10 - 12 wraps. That should stay above 1.2ohms cut off. Once you can build that, your journey starts. Play with wick amount and placement. Air hole size and placement. Juice content... etc This is rebuilding, not just building low ohm coil.

Echoing what has been said above^^^

Besides all that, your MVP will fire Just fine even just above the cutoff point, Even at 2ohms it will fire perfectly. The whole point behind dripping is for better flavor of vape. Everyones just posting about subohming because they want to get more Clouds out of it ( as do i Lol )
Im guilty of being a cloud chaser but i do it safely with good batteries and a well built coil or two. Anyone can subohm it's not hard to do it's just not SAFE unless you read up about all the hazards involved. Once all that is said and read for, go right on ahead and build coils and get good at em. Once your comfortable with it and you feel up to advancing there will always be mechs around, there might even be new ones who knows. Just practice with a cheap Dripper and use the MVP for now, Once your ready you can order yourself a new mech and a good dripper and be on your way!

12 wraps of 28g on a 1/16 bit will get you roughly 2.0 ohms

thats what attracted me too. i dont have to worry about keeping atty's stocked at home. ill probably use my t3s for when i drive, but for just general chilling i'd use the dripper. changing flavors should be easier too right? just vape all the flavor out of the dripper, and drip something else in right?

yup; drippers are perfect for sampling;
very usefull for DIY eliquid makers
