I got the DID clone. Set it up with SS mesh, vaped and vas getting constantly flooded. That I figured that I need to change the way I tip. After some practice it got better but it just isn't consistent vape. From time to time I need to adjust a hot spot or move a coil etc, etc. Is this the way it is or can rba be set and vaped at least a week without touching it?
For now I've put silica on it and vaping away without problems but I'd rather use SS.

You will get better with time...figuring out your RBA'S.sweet spot is part of it...once you learn exactly how to position your wick and wraps for that specific devise you will get consistency ....ive had a good coil in a zen for 3 weeks now....but the one in my aga got a hot spot last night but i fixed it by pushing the wick over a bit....sitck with it just gott learn what your devise likes.

Just find them a major pain in the ...., life is too short to continually muck about with them.

I don't think the SS wick is the final improvement, I don't like the centre post connection it always seems to cause the most issues with hot spots.

It doesn't seemed refined enough yet. Just my $0.02

I own a DID it has been unloved for two weeks as i always just turn to a boge carto,

I've had wicks and coils go for months with nothing more than dry burns between tank refills. The wick in the DiD clone I'm vaping on right now was installed in January. I did recoil it a week or so ago with a lower ohm coil so I could use it with my Bolt instead of my Provari. For me the genesis rba's take less work than a carto tank.

Yes, I do have a problematic hot spot from time to time but for the most part my three gennies have been good to me.

Ceramic wicks have have far better consistency than SS mesh, in fact better in every other respect too.

No hot spots, shorts and other nonsense either.

I'm finally thinking of looking into these RBAs. I'm perfectly satisfied with my carto tanks. But, my wife vapes non-stop. Chief'n. Low nic and low watts... but she hardly puts it down and give it a rest. So, my problem is burnt out cartos every couple days (or more!).

How do the wicks, coils, mesh, <insert whatever I'll learn as I dig in deeper>>.... as far as burning?

As the OP was questioning, I need consistency and easy to refill (for my wife) and not too expensive to try out (for me).

One major issue that I've seen, and why I haven't dug deeper, is having to have them always upright so they don't leak (through airhole?). Is this true of all of them? That would be a show stopper.

edit: If an RBA exists where leakage is not an issue, please give suggestions for decent one (almost work as good as the "real mccoys") that I could start with. I cannot afford to test something out unless it's fairly cheap. And I am still a doubter... Thanks!

Yes I'm using silica wick now. I'm getting the best vape I've ever had on any device I've ever had, cartos, clearos, you name it. I'm waiting for another couple of DIDs to arrive before I'll attempt SS wick again because I don't want to give up the nice vape for now. Considering the DID clone cost similar Nova or T3, the vape quality from those doesn't come even close even when I'm using silica wick. I just worry a little about inhaling some of the silica since it is very exposed in the DID. Maybe I worry for nothing tho.
