Get a roll of 32 or 30 guage; if you get 32 guage you will make 2 ohm coils EASY.
Plus you can always try twisting two pieces of 32 guage wire to make a thicker wire if you want, whereas you can't take thick wire and make it thinner.

Use a multimeter to measure what lenth or wire gives you the ohms you want; its not the number of wraps that counts it is the length of wire.

For a normal coil, "hand-wound" coil, wrapped directly around a 3 mm piece of silica, 5 wraps of 32 AWG Kanthal D 0.2mm will give you 2-2.1 Ohms.

For a microcoil, wrapped on a 1.5mm drill bit (and then fitted with wicking material afterwards, of course), 7 wraps of the same 32 AWG Kanthal D will hit 2-2.1 Ohms.

Both will easily fit inside the ProTank coil head, without touched the sides and shorting out :)

A microcoil, using 30ga, at 1/16" ID at 11 wraps should get you where you want to be.

That being said, what is the reason you are shooting for 2-2.2Ω? Reason I ask, is that I find my microcoil'ed protank heads to be much more durable using 28ga wire. The thickness of the wire makes it easier to dry burn and re-wick them without distorting and ruining the coil. 10 wraps on a similar size coil yields 1.3Ω which fires fine on an ego, MVP, spinner, etc. 12 wraps will fit, but it's a bit tighter and would be in the neighborhood of 1.5Ω

I have been wrapping all of my own coils for my Protanks for about 4 months and have gotten quite good at it, no longer having to even check the resistance. I can tell the finished product resistance to within .1 ohm everytime accurately. I do know that for 2.5 ohms using a 4/40 machine screw use 32 gauge kanthal with 6 wraps. You will always end up with 2.4 to 2.6. Cut the wraps back to 5 wraps and you will end up with 2.2 almost every time.

I rebuild heads for evods.. I use 30g and a 1/16 drill bit. 10 or so wraps gets me right above 2Ω
I use 30g because it's sturdier than the thinner 32g.. I wick with cotton so when the coil gets dirty/gunked all I have to do it pull the cotton out, pulse the gunk off the coil and insert a new piece of cotton.

Just a starting point I guess. Of all of the heads I've bought for my protanks, it seems the 2.2 ohm ones hold up the best, I really like them around 1.8 ohms, but I've noticed that they burn up faster on my MVP. But that could also be because they are factory coils I suppose

Past experience with stock Kanger heads has nothing to do with how your own re built heads will perform. My rebuilds are 1.8 ohm microcoils wicked with organic cotton, and they blow the stock PT heads out of the water. Totally. I mean, it's not even close to being the same clearomizer.

As you do more builds, you will get better at it. Experiment, and figure out what works best for you. I can say I own Iclear 30s's and a few RDA's and they are really great for different reasons, but I almost always have one of my PT's set up and on a device. Have fun!!

Ok, so I can do a microcoil and not have to mess with the spacing on the coil? That makes it a lot easier, all the videos I watched on YouTube showed spaced coils. I really do like the vapor production off of the 1.8 ohm coils I bought, but like I said they burned up so fast I was iffy on building them to 1.8. But if that's just because of the "junk" factory coil then that's what I'm going to shoot for

30ga, 10 wraps on a 1/16" drill bit will get you 2.0 ohms almost every time.

I changed up a bit and was using 32ga. Heats up faster given the wire is thinner but found flavor lacking. Went back to 30ga. Next, going the other direction and going to see if 28ga has any improvement. Also..........just saw a video where RipTripper did a Triple Twisted 32ga Micro coil, he said he used a rod at around 5/64" and 7 wraps ended up a 1.1 ohm. I'd think a couple more wraps would get closer to 2 and with this, you'd have enough surface area for good flavor. May also try this on a Kanger head, but I'll experiment using a 1/16" bit as I like where this sits versus a 5/64 since the 1/16 bit will fit within the kanger slots.

What setting do you use on your MVP?

I notice the MVP2 actually STARTS at 6 watts which imo is rather high to start with; but you can always switch to vv mode and drop to 3 volts.
