My set up IStick Pico 75 and Serpent mini

I am a little lazy so sure I want to cut corners by extending the rebuild timeframe.

How many tanks (2ml) before changing out wicks ? I have plenty of organic cotton. Right now replacing about every 15ml.

coils - I burn them rather clean instead of changing out each time. This way they last me about 3 weeks or about 100ml. I'm new to vaping and it is somewhat of a hassle to replace the coil. Not good ?

I don't have one, but the deck looks super easy to recoil and re-wick.
Can you post a photo of your build? What part of the process is giving you hassle?

Wow thats a purdy deck! Im wondering the same thing....whats giving you trouble?

Can't speak for the OP. But I have a Serpent Mini. And Mine has 1 Glitch in it that makes Mounting the Coil a bit of a Dexterity Test.

And that is the Wire Slots on mine were Machined a Tad too Deep. So it doesn't want to Trap a Single 26ga or Smaller Coil Leg.

A Great compact Tank. Great Hit. Just a Tad Annoying to mount the Coil.

Yup. Mounting a 28G coil is a challenge. As for the OP, as already pointed out change the wick when tasting funky and dry burn the coil if Kanthal until it will no longer clean up. I use SS rather than Kanthal as I'm a TC vaper, but I handle it the same way and can get 3 months out of a coil. Just a more gentle burn than for Kanthal.

I also use very light and slightly flavored DIY juices and it makes a huge difference to the longevity.
I use a 24/36 clapton in my Serpent, wicks last for weeks coils last for months.
Another indicator that the wicks needs changing is leaking. The constant heating and flow of juice denatures the cotton reducing it's ability to hold back the juice above it.

I agree with you. I often replace wicks (after weeks of service) because of leaking, not because of taste changes. But I think for most of vapers it's of secondary concern, because their wicks became gunked well before leaks are developed.

I dry burn and re wick mine about every 150ml ' ish. YMMV I DIY my juice so it doesnt have all the excessive crap that gunks up coils so quick like store bought juice does

So I'm kind of new, about 5 months and I just went thru 4 coils that came with the mini. I wasn't thinking and got some vape wire off eBay but forgot to pay attention to material. It was cheap 100' 24 gauge I think $5 delivered to my buddy while he was in US. A1 VapeSupply. I twisted a few coils and then when I went to put one in found I had ... back warded them. Still not sure the material.

My prob is the little nubs at each end of the coil, it's a tight fit so they have to be virtually flush.

So this build was with a coil I built and unsure of material. After about 1 or 2 days was tasting like an ashtray. Again new wick and coil.

Serpent Mini is my favorite RTA. I build .3 - .5ohm 3mm 24ga SS316L coils & vape at 25 - 30W in TC @ 400 - 450F. I vape approximately 7mls a day. I usually re-wick twice a week & dry burn the coil. I've had my current coil in about 2 months. YMMV...

I do about the same but I keep mine on AUTO and only adjust wattage usually around 27 but go 20 to 42. So you wick out often and maybe I should too. Maybe it's my new coils suck, I was getting about 5 days before it was necessary to change and my wicks were disintegrating anyways.

Yes, mine are sweet, tea colored tobacco and cheap for store bought but what can I expect in the PI. My favorite Sweetch RY4 is only $6 for 30 and that's a high one.

I'll be delving into that when I get back for a visit in 2 months. How much diff between DIY and ready made stuff can I expect if aiming for a nice NOT NET pipe tobacco juice ? Maybe that's another forum never mind LOL
